I did a quick check at what the papers have on their front page, most of them were about the Olympics, the Mail had this story on the front page and 2 newspapers were STILL going on about Maddie

No, war is a very bad thing. Which is why more states need nukes - it prevents bigger states from invading smaller states. Russia wouldn't invade Georgia if they feared a nuclear retaliation.

 

This is just another example of Putin positioning Russia as the new Soviet Union, and it shouldn't be tolerated.

This situation will sort it self out, if the US does nothing about it, any comments they make have to be very well worded and not seeming to attack putin or Russians foreign Policy within its own back yard.

This is defeatist ideology. We have nuclear strike capabilities - all we need to do is announce we disapprove of Russia's invasion and move some submarines armed with trident warheads to the area. They'll back down.

Holodomor is national tragedy of the Ukraine. But it's not so. The famines in Soviet time was in 1921-1922 (5 millons victims), in 1932-1933 (3-8 millions), after the Second World War in 1946-1947 (1-1.5 millions victims). Millons died. Not only ukrainians. Kazakhs, russians, byelorussian died too. I hate this point of Yushenko:( I want them to stop digging the past.
