oooh, four-track EP on my birthday :nice:

i'm thinking they can pull a max of THREE versions of "lost!" out of their asses:

"lost!"

"lost?"

and "lost! (live)"

so i would think that would mean we get minimum ONE new song (unless they decide to cheap us out with a live version of some song we've already heard...:shifty:)

...don't forget "Lost- (Instrumental)" from the promo CD :stunned: lol! sadly I wouldn't be so surprised if that was the EP's track list right there!

I'm expecting "Glass of Water" (due to Lost! stealing its painting for the Lost! single cover and also Jenjie's speculation) and maybe "Lovers in Japan (Acoustic)", which seems to be floating around in limbo atm.

Number 4 Vol 1

LOST? VIDEO COMPETITION

Hello again. Yesterday evening Coldplay.com launched a contest for you folks to create a video for Lost? (the acoustic version of the upcoming single). As Prospekt explained in his brief, you can "use any medium you like: animation, [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MALXpE52ohk&feature=PlayList&p=7ED539F8C5E071F4&index=8]claymation[/ame], stop motion, video camera, super 8, comic strip, photography" to conjure your video. We'd just like them to be creative, original and imaginative. The maker of the best video - as chosen by the band - will win an all-expenses trip to London to see one of Coldplay's homecoming shows at the O2 in December. Click here for full details of how to enter and to hear Lost?

PROSPEKT'S MARCH EP DETAILS

Since we were last in touch, it's been announced that Coldplay will release the Prospekt's March EP at the end of November. Click here to read a letter written by Chris explaining the EP, here to watch a video of the band debuting one of its songs in Antwerp (with Albert Hammond Jr), here to check out when the EP and a special edition of the album will be released where you are and here to admire the artwork. If all that leaves you feeling suitably inspired, then click here to pre-order your copy from the Coldplay US/Rest Of The World shop (it'll arrive in the UK/Europe store next week).

LOST+ MAKES RADIO DEBUT

Last night Chris visited BBC Radio 1's London HQ to deliver Lost+, the new version of the track featuring Jay-Z. If you'd like to hear it, then click here and select "Listen to the latest Zane Lowe show". The track is played after about half an hour. You'll also hear Chris talking about a possible visit to Henry Lytton-Cobbold's house next summer. Which would be nice.

LOVING IT IN JAPAN

Coldplay's first dates for 2009 were announced this week, with three Japanese shows confirmed for February. The band will be playing Tokyo's Saitama Super Arena on February 12th and Osaka's Kobe World Kinen Hall on February 14th and 15th. For more information, click here. COLDPLAY.COM WINS AWARD, IS CHUFFED

Before we go, a big thank you to all of you whose votes helped Coldplay.com win the Best Official Website gong at the BT Digital Music Awards earlier this month. We're very chuffed indeed that you like what we do.

We're never quite sure what to say in this sign-off line. First person to email [email protected] gets it dedicated to them in the next edition...

New video to premiere on iTunes today

No.5 Vol 1

LOVERS IN JAPAN VIDEO PREMIERE

Hello again. We're pleased to announce that the new video for Lovers In Japan will be premiering on iTunes stores around the world today (Friday). What's more, folks in the US of A will be able to download it free of charge for a week. The video was made by Mat Whitecross in London. It's based on the new Osaka Sun mix of the song and features fireworks, butterflies and Guy on a [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GPWJc8sLhjo&feature=related]trapeze[/ame].

LOST? VIDEO COMPETITION UPDATE

The entries have been flooding in for our Lost? video competition - for which we're asking you to make a video for the acoustic version of the track. The winner will receive an all-expenses trip for two to see Coldplay in [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BcCLKn6W1xk]London[/ame] in December, from wherever they live. You've still got the whole of November to get your entry together - click here for all the entry info. And if you'd like to check out some of the best entries so far, then head to the official [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rfZ3Cf8VhuU]Coldplay YouTube page[/ame]. You don't really need swanky equipment, just a good idea.

LOST! DIGITAL BUNDLE

A reminder that on November 10th, Lost! will be released as a four-track, digital-only EP across the world. It will feature Lost! (the original version), Lost? (the acoustic one), Lost+ (the one featuring Jay-Z) and Lost@ (the live one). Sadly, our suggestion to make a topical version called Lost$ (about the worldwide financial situation) appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

COLDPLAY.COM UPDATE

As ever, keep an eye on Coldplay.com for all the latest news, the latest blogs and the latest answers to your questions from the all-knowing Oracle. We've also got a bunch of support act interviews coming up in the next few weeks, beginning with Jim Ward from the marvellous http://www.myspace.com/sleepercarwesttexas, who are about to join the band on the current US tour.

WIN A SIGNED COPY OF PROSPEKT'S MARCH

Would you like to win a copy of the upcoming Prospekt's March EP on 12-inch vinyl signed not only by the band, but by the mysterious Prospekt himself? Then email your name and address to [email protected] before Wednesday November 12th to be in with a shot.

You might remember in the last Messenger we offered to dedicate this last line to the first person to email us. Hundreds did, but the first was Santiago Exposito from Barcelona, Spain. This one's for you Santiago.

Exclusive Chris interview on Coldplay.com

CHRIS CHATS TO COLDPLAY.COM

Hello again. We begin this sixth edition of TCM with the news that, this morning, Coldplay.com posted a new interview with Mr Chris Martin. In it, he talks about the upcoming Prospekt's March EP, Barack Obama, Oasis and Exeter City FC, as well as dropping some sizeable hints about Coldplay's 2009 touring plans. Click here to read our exclusive chat.

PREVIEW PROSPEKT'S MARCH TRACKS

With the Prospekt's March EP due for release around the world in the next fortnight (click here for all the release dates), we're currently offering a sneak preview of its tracks via our fancy new glass game. Click here, ask the glass a question, then rub it with your mouse and, as well as riddles and rhymes, you might just be treated to a clip of one of the EP's songs. If you're suitably impressed, you can pre-order the EP from the Coldplay.com store here.

GET LOST!

The four-track Lost! EP was released in digital stores worldwide this week. It contains the following tracks:

1. Lost!

2. Lost? (acoustic version)

3. Lost@ (live at United Center, Chicago)

4. Lost+ (feat Jay-Z)

It's available from all good download emporiums.

LOST? VIDEO COMPETITION UPDATE

The entries for our Lost? video competition have been flooding in over the last few days. An astonishing number of them have been filmed in forests. We think this may prove something about the negative psychological affect of fairy tales. If you'd like to get your entry in (forest-based or otherwise), you have until December 1st. Or, if you'd just like to check out dozens of the entries, go to youtube.com/coldplaytv and watch away.

WIN A SIGNED COLDPLAY LAUNDRY BAG

Followers of Roadie #42's blogs, may remember a recent one in which he excitedly revealed that the crew had all been given Coldplay laundry bags. Well, we're pleased to say that we've managed to get hold of one of these special bags to give away to you folks. What's more, we're going to get the band to sign it for our lucky winner. If you'd like to be in with a chance of winning it, email your name and address to [email protected] before Thursday November 27th. The winner of the signed vinyl Prospekt's March EP from the last TCM was Horacio A from Argentina.

UK DATES ON SALE

KYLIE TRACK AVAILABLE

STADIUM SHOWS ON SALE

Hello again. Coldplay's three UK stadium shows are now on sale. The big news since we were last in touch is that the world's finest rapper, Jay-Z, will be supporting the band at all three shows. A reminder of the dates:

Saturday 12th September - Manchester LCCC

Wednesday 16th September - Glasgow Hampden Park

Saturday 19th September - London Wembley Stadium

If you'd like to buy tickets click here to get them from gigsandtours or here to get them from ticketmaster.

KYLIE TRACK ON (RED)WIRE

As you may have heard, super-popster Kylie Minogue popped into the Bakery during the recording sessions for Viva La Vida, to work on a track with Coldplay. That song, Lhuna, has now been completed and is available from today on (RED)WIRE, a new charity digital service which will help buy life-saving medicine for those living with HIV/AIDS in Africa. Head over to www.redwire.com for all the info.

LIVE BLOG FROM BIRMINGHAM

You might remember that Coldplay.com brought you a live photoblog from the Lyon gig in September, which aimed to give you an idea of what it was like to be backstage with the band on the day of a big show, via video, pictures and general chit-chat. Well, we're doing it again on Tuesday in Birmingham. Head over to the site from Tuesday afternoon to join in the fun.

PROSPEKT'S MARCH EP

Don't forget, the Prospekt's March EP is now available, featuring six brand new Coldplay songs, plus a belting new mix of Lovers In Japan and the Jay-Z version of Lost!. The EP is available on CD, vinyl and download. Or you can get it as part of a two-disc special Prospekt's March edition of Viva La Vida. Click here for the full tracklistings and worldwide iTunes/Amazon links.

WIN A SIGNED SETLIST

As Coldplay.com is decamping to Birmingham tomorrow, it seemed only sensible to make the competition prize in this edition a setlist from the show, signed by the whole band. If you'd like to win it, simply email your name and address to [email protected] before Monday 15th December. Incidentally, the winner of the signed laundry bag contest, which closed last week, was Paul C from Adelaide, Australia. Life may never be quite the same for him.

To Birmingham, and beyond...
