Alright New Yawkers!

:snore: :snore: :snore:

^^^ That's not me snoring, that's me doing my Oooohhhms - That's the good karma meditation I posted way back in this thread (hoping at least 1 wonderful person from this forum would get in!!) I am proud of you diehard Coldplayers that didn't take "No" for an answer. And thanks to yall for posting all the good details and reviews.

Coldplaying Carma Works!!!!

saw this listed on Gawker Stalker:

Jay Z & Beyonce: 311 W 34th St

Oct 22nd, 2008 @ 8pm

Saw Jay-Z and Beyonce hanging out at the Coldplay in Hammerstein Ballroom last night. Jigga was wearing his trademark sunglasses, while Beyonce was looking beautiful as usual. Both seemed to enjoy the concert from their 2nd tier balcony overlooking the stage.

Coldplay Get Intimate in NYC

The “Lost” quartet play an invite-only show at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

While the CMJ Music Marathon is taking over New York City, Coldplay snuck into town to tape a Yahoo / Nissan Live Show at Hammerstein Ballroom. While the 4,000 capacity venue ain’t peanuts, it certainly is a small venue for the arena rockers who have won back a devote fanbase with Viva La Vida.

A mellow crowd of mostly industry folks filled the Hammerstein floors, but the balconies, which were open, were surprisingly empty. The producers of the show easily could have gotten another thousand or so folks in. At one point, Chris even joked about how, apparently, Coldplay couldn’t get rid of enough tickets to pack the venue for a free show.

Considering the last time Coldplay played a show like this was when they did an AOL live session at the Beacon Theatre to kick off the X&Y tour and it was a total disaster, I’m surprised how close this show came to becoming a repeat of that. What saved the show was the fact that the Viva songs are so much stronger than the X&Y songs and the band is so much more energized.

Oh. Jay-Z was in the house with his woman. Everyone noticed him and was hoping for him to come out on “Lost,” but sadly, he did not. Oh well.

I typed away so much last night, I almost feel like I don’t have a right to take up any more board space. Someone take my keyboard away!!!!:wreck:

Sorry i'm on so late...at work, shouldn't be online. Big thanks to Noelia (Cooky)! If she wasn't on line, i would have been the 250th person on line. We were about 10 ft away from the guys...you could see the sweat, chest hairs, everything!

Some highlights: Chris said in the beginning, "it looks like there's quite a lot of seats back in the balcony...more ppl could have come but Joe the Plumber is having his own concert a few doors down...they got a lot of laughs...chris said we were playing in ohio a few days ago and no one laughed or applauded us....i guess joe the plumber in ohio is like the eliot spitze of NY.

chris tripped on one of the wires by Guy....both had a good laugh about that!

Towards the end, chris asked jonny, 'what time is it?' Jonny mouthed 'don't know'....then chris asks, 'duffy is playing in ny tonight as well, right...what venue is she at? Again, Jonny replies 'don't know' ....chris laughs and says, 'jonny..you don't know anything, do you?'

More to come....

Hiiiii Steph! :kiss:So glad you came outta posting retirement haha. It was so so nice to meet you, next time, we’re meeting up beforehand and going together to any NY/NJ shows damn it! (unless my hyperness and blabbing away last nite scared you off!:P)

You guys think I’m good for going down there and trying to get in, Steph is SO COOL for just deciding at the very last minute to pass by and see what could happen. I’d at least had it planned from the day before LOL, she’s totally spontaneous—and it worked! (and thanks for telling me to order Stella Artois at the bar, Guy’s choice. Hehe I’m gonna make it MY beer of choice now hahaha). Thanks for filling in the gaps with those little highlights, it’s impossible for me to describe everything, but I did try my hardest LOL.;)

Can you tell I was sooo into the show, and the guys, that I didn’t even bother to look back and realize this?!? Jay Z, Beyonce, psss who cares:dozey:, I WAS FEET AWAY FROM COLDPLAY!!!!:o:D

Kspillers2 thanks so much for sending out good Coldplay vibes. I truly believe in “Coldplay-karma.” That’s the only way I’ve been able to go to MSG, Today, and now Hammerstein show!!!! I really feel all the good vibes I tried to send, combined with that of the lovely people on this board, plus pure magic that surrounds Coldplay, equals CONCERT MIRACLES LOL. (I sound crazy, don’t I? But didn’t u just read that I got in for free to THREE “contest winners only” shows?!?! And I only really won 1 of those--MSG I got through a very nice coldplayer who gave up her tix! (Uhoh I hope I don’t run outta good karma!!!!! Not until I meet them, damn it! Even just one of them hehehe)(and I'm not trying to show off, if that's how it comes off,:embarassed: just trying to show that IT CAN work, just gotta really really believe it will, and have lots of good Coldplay Karma®--i wish i could bottle it and sell it!)

sDOTmelfi so glad you remembered more from Q&As. It was kinda jumbled up in my mind. Are you the guy from the coat check line, who was in one of the pics of the iPhone guy??? Steph and I were right behind him, and she then gave her email to him as well. Thanks for posting those, the one of them sitting on edge of stage is great!

As you can see I'm still on a high. Woke up 2hrs before my alarm w/ ears ringing and a goofy grin on my face:D

oh cooky, just stay on the coldplay hi for a few more days and then you will get some more, but oh, then your withdrawl/crash will suck really bad though

Two years ago i saw a concert of Eric Clapton in Paris (not at Bercy). The temperature was hot. Bottles of water were banned (even plastic ones). I rolled a jean jacket around my bottle and held my jacket in one hand. I was searched but not what i was holding in my hand. In addition, just before passing the check-out area i gave my friend the "bottle" as he had already passed the check-out area. The guy saw nothing, too busy by his job, when one thinks how huge the line was before passing the check-out area. However there was one file for females to be searched and one file for males. :stunned:

Silly me....i didn't notice Jay-Z or Beyonce.....my eyes were fixated on Guy!

in that review of the concert, why did it say it was almost a disaster like the xy show at the Beacon theater. What happened there???

And footage of Chris leaving the venue here:

OHMYGAAAWWWD. where the fuck was that exit??? I figured they all just flew outta there, no point in trying to hang by the door. :embarassed:oh my god. did i miss my chance to meet Chris?!?!?! oh shit.:bigcry: Those girls got to HUG him!!!<bitter jealousy>

ok, NEXT TIME. that's it. I'm getting hardcore stalker now. I'm going to start taking serious lessons from the pros around here. I'm taking baby steps into hardcore superfan now:D:P

Noelia, you've only just begun, next time is your turn to meet them, I'm sure :nice:

I'm just starting the program LOL. but remember what i said--NO GETTING ARRESTED!:P

Start saving your bail money...good advice from the Angie:wink:

  • Author

oh lord last words from hubby, i do not want to bail you out in jersey. no we will be good, harmless laps around the arena with jeep, weather will be a big predictor too

there were only a few fans waiting outside?? So much for the question during Q&A session when someone asked when the band realized they were famous. although it's NY....no one really gets excited when they see a celebrity....i've seen celebrities on the streets or events and i've never cared to say hi.

Hey Christa,

I'm still thinking about it....i've been really lucky this year to see the guys in such small venues, so i won't feel horrible if i don't see them at izod. i'm slowly paying off my cc debt....

Isn't Chris sweet in the video...... going up to those girls with ..'Hi, Im Chris " and not just yes, but "of course " when they ask for autographs, pics etc. Could he be ANY nicer!

  • Author

now i am gutted after watcing the vid, avoided it as long as i could, no pressure steph, but it woulld be nice!! we need a huge group pic

wow if that was me in the video id be pissing my pants lol

You see, for some reason I'm not dyyyiiinng to meet them, 'cause I don't want to make a fool of myself. I don't want to meet them just to be able say "oh I met so&so." It would be nice, and I wouldn't pass up an opportunity, don't get me wrong(christa i call shotgun in your jeep!;)), but for now I'm happy enough having seen them in small venues. It helps you see them as real people, not these tiny dots making music (as it can feel in big arenas), like watching on TV.

I can just see myself---OHMYGODCHRISILOVEYOUGUYS! PARACHUTESGOTMETHROUGHASADTIMEINMYLIFE, and YOURLYRICSAREWONDERFUL, and I'd just stare at Guy with a huge goofy grin:wacky:, and want to just hug Will:heart:, and Id look at Jonny and giggle and he'd feel awkward and giggle:smiley:, and that would be it. Id' forget to take a pic or ask for autograph. LOL Of course that would be the worst that could happen in the best case scenario (getting to meet all 4!).

So, yeah what was my point?!:P Oh, yeah, not yet ready for "stalker" status (can we find a diff word, that one has such a scary connotation?), but with all the wonderful karma that has come my way, I'm starting to believe that one day it will be possible to meet them. (Ohmygod what if it's on Sunday?!?!:shocked2: Christa if I say something stupid, just muzzle me! Or if stand there like a statue slap me across the head hehe).
