November 14, 200817 yr The Sun preview? :surprised: yeah! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article1915267.ece The title track is woozily psychedelic with guitars gently chiming and strings sweeping. Chris asks: “Don’t you wish your life could be as simple as fish swimming round in a barrel when you’ve got the gun?”
November 17, 200817 yr I was so moved by that little part of the song I've heard. I had my magical, good old "Coldplay feeling"; a feeling only Coldplay's music can give me - kind of a euforic state. I had it the first times I heard Speed of Sound, which was the song that made me in love with Coldplay and with other songs too.
November 19, 200817 yr the song we hear on the preview IS poppyfields. I've heard the actual Prospekts March, it's chris and a guitar, the preview I heard him sing had: 'People talkin without speakin tryin to take what they can get' 'I ask you if you remember Prosekt how could I forget'
November 19, 200817 yr You sure? Cause to me the two previews go together perfectly. They must be the same song and I think they're both Prospekt's March.
November 19, 200817 yr The length of the track is 3:05.. It must be just one song.. It's 3:39, I thought. Still short for two tracks, though.
November 20, 200817 yr I'd prefer one song to 2 tiiiiny songs (they've already upset me with that for Postcards) particularly seeing how epic the previews sound.
November 20, 200817 yr This song breaks my heart. It's too short! It feels like it's going to burst into the greatest most beautiful thing ever and then it just stops! But it's still an amazing song. My pick of the EP. By the way we know now that it's not a double track, so is Poppy Fields just an alternative name for Prospekts March? I dont think they've been on the same list as eachother unless mentioned as a double. Either that or Poppys got dropped at the last minute.
November 20, 200817 yr mm..dont think its too short, on a line "I dont wanna die here tonight" I am in ecstasy.
November 20, 200817 yr yeah I guess Poppyfields is another teeny lil instrumental interlude thing just like Postcards
November 20, 200817 yr The full song of this is a major disappointment considering how utterly beautiful Prospekts March is, Poppyfields does not need to be there - at least give us an extended instrumental or something my gripe about the whole album really, could have just dispersed these tracks as B-sides to singles - I've bought every Coldplay album so far but I wont be buying this EP
November 20, 200817 yr Author Having heard the full version of the song I now love it even more! :D Just so peaceful and atmospheric! One of their best ever IMO.
November 20, 200817 yr I love it, I hope they play it live...it has been on the setlist many times. I think Poppy Fields in the instrumental part at the end, IMO.
November 20, 200817 yr I LOVE this song, probably my favourite acoustic guitar-flavoured song by them. Its so atmospheric and beautiful, and even slightly haunting - and that part at the end is just as essential as the rest of the song in my opinion. I just love it so much :D Kinda reminds me of a calmer, more beautiful version of AROBTTH (the song), and it does sound a bit mid-70s era Pink Floyd, but that just makes all the more awesome for me :P Oh how i wish they made more songs like this.

My thoughts exactly. Gives me goosebumps everytime :)
November 20, 200817 yr I hope and think that they will start playing this live with an extended outro, freaking out.. Many bands tends to skip the "heavy" parts on studio versions for some reason. A good example is "About Today" by The National, which on the EP (Cherry Tree) is quite mellow and not so "heavy" whereas the live version has an absolutely awesome heavy outro which last for like 5-6 minutes. Well, another example is GPASYF which has a lame outro on ARBTTH and a kick-ass one live (please, scrap the disco thing....:S) So, a rock-the-hell-out-outro, and it's a great live song in my opinion
November 20, 200817 yr Probably my favorite song on the EP, it's definitely making its way up to the top of my list!:D
November 20, 200817 yr I love this song sooooooooooo much. It's so damn beautiful. :bigcry: I love the softness and the acoustic, it makes me think of Parachutes and I've been really missing that sound recently. I really really love Chris's voice on it too. I think it might end up being my favorite song on the EP, although I feel like I need to wait before I really know. LiTii (and possibly also Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground) is a tough competitor. Like many others, I feel like it should have been longer, but oh well really, what can you do...
