February 4, 200917 yr *raises hand shyly* dont get me wrong, I love radiohead and love in rainbows, but well I think you're right there, I hate it when people go like: oh new coldplay is shit, I prefer parachutes... besides you're picking one of the worst vlvodaah songs (lost) what is there to hate about other peoples opinions. if you like vlv just as much as parachutes then good for you. but alot of us don't and there is nothing wrong with that. and i think you've outlined exxactly why alot of people prefer in rainbows to vlv. lost is the worst song on the album but when it comes to in rainbows most of us would struggle to pick out a song that we don't like. at least i would. radiohead's latest is near perfect whereas vlv isn't quite on the same platform.
February 4, 200917 yr i'm not putting down vlvodaahf i just think in rainbows is musically and lyrically better. i like both albums a ton and im not in anyway trying to say that radiohead are like... superior to coldplay. its just my opinion that in rainbows is a 'better' album than viva. why? for one thing, i think theres a lot more variety from song to song. there are the songs that can put you to sleep (house of cards, videotape) and then the songs you could dance for hours to (bodysnatchers, jigsaw). i also think it's lyrically stronger but i guess lyrics are much more opinion based. finally, i think the music is more natural and more creative (the drumbeat on 15 step, the strings on faust arp). not even to mention it's pay-what-you-want release. it actually had a large effect on the music industry and im not sure you can say the same about viva...
February 4, 200917 yr ^^ very well put. the music world woke up no different the morning after vlv came out. but the release of In Rainbows will go down as one of the most significant in music history.
February 4, 200917 yr ^ For me, In Rainbows is good, but not as great as some people are making it out to be. It is not even in my top 3 favorite Radiohead albums. I have listened to In Rainbows, Raising Sand, and Viva la Vida, and In Rainbows is my favorite in the album of the year category. However, I do not think it is one of the all time greats.

Most and majority of them Think VLV is the best , ARObtth 2nd......... BUt Me Its 1.VLV 2.X&y = AROBTTH 3. Parachutes Nothings bad......some are just better but all... brilliant work!........Keep an open mind fellas...\ And Ill keeep an ear out for In rainbows plan to buy the ilegal version for now..Still VLV 's amazing period....either way in the awards im open for anything!:)
February 4, 200917 yr ^^ thats the funny thing about in rainbows. there is no such thing as an "illegal" version. the band basically gave it away for free. i'll fess up and admit that i bought In Rainbows for $0.00 and i was soooo impressed by it that i bought The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A all within the next week. and then Hail to the Thief a few months later. its no.3 on my list of fave radiohead albums. first OK then bends then rainbows. In Rainbows is my favourite out of the nominated albums. but i dont mind if robert plant wins.

February 4, 200917 yr Predicting who will win a Grammy is impossible. I know a family where the husband actually gets a Grammy ballot because he is in the music industry. I can assure you, his taste is not rap or alternative music. You have to think about the people behind the scenes who are actually voting on the awards. The person I am speaking of is a sound engineer. I doubt that he is really plugged into what is hip or innovative in the industry. I have not talked to him, but looking at the nominees, my guess is that he voted for Plant/Krauss, but it is purely a guess. So it all comes down to the opinions of the judges.
February 4, 200917 yr The only album I have heard is Viva La Vida so, natuarally I want it to win as it is my fave album ever!!!, And to be honest I think it will win!
February 5, 200917 yr regardless of who wins it won't change anyones opinion on any of those albums. and i'm starting to believe more and more everyday that plant/krauss will take it out. and i'm not saying that because its the most "grammy" like album in the list rather because its a solid record made by two of the most talented vocalist in music history. and lets not forget Krauss has won 21 grammys already (one off stevie wonders and U2's record) so obviously the voting commitee like her and from what i've heard and read its supposed to be her best release to date. so my money is on Raising Sand and lets hope we get some Black Dog on the night. :)

Yah there was briggins......... it was a close match between VLV and AROBTTH but i think VLV won....the most votes.... becoz the last time i checked viva was leading a few points ... 10 pts i think
February 5, 200917 yr i am willing to bet anything that in 25years time not many people will remember vlv, they will remember rush of blood and in rainbows. and i'm also certain that 95% of the people who voted for vlv became fans after the release of X&Y and therefore never truly felt the impact rush of blood had on the music scene both mainstream and alternative. i'm tipping coldplay will take home 3 awards. which 3 i'm not sure. they're not a shoe in for any of their nominations, there's good competition in all 7 categories. but i'm sure the grammys will reward coldplay for their success over the last 9 or so years with a few awards.
February 5, 200917 yr Whoever wins it does deserve it in my opinion. But I think VLV and In Rainbows will get snubbed. Its weird how two alternative bands are in there. My bet is Plants/Krauss, but it could easily go to Lil Wayne. We'll just have to see.

I'm not so closed mind to hate someone for not sharing my opinion. Music is just a matter of tastes, and that's a fact. That was my point. And no one is perfect, what I hate is that people go bashing saying like oh old coldplay, new coldplay is worthless, they are just now a bad band. Well that's your opinion, so in some people's opinion coldplay doesn't deserve to win, but on others' opinion they do (which is not mine btw). For you In rainbows is almost flawless, for me too as well, but for others it is not. The critics praised Amy Whinehouse hile I dispise her. I like the beatles, but I think they are musicaly overrated, while the whole word disagrees.
