Grammy album of the year 09 (who you want to win/who you think will win?)

Featured Replies

of couse, i really want coldplay to win. and radiohead would be a great second choice.

but the grammy's are so fucking corrupted now that they give it to who's most popular in america. so it'll most likely go to someone who sucks. :dozey:.

but of course, i'll be crossing my fingers for the boys. :D

^ That doesn't make the Grammy's corrupt. It is an American award show, what do you expect? Naturally, the people voting on the award show will be most familiar with the music they are surrounded by in America. Some degree of inherent bias is different from corruption. Plus, Coldplay does just fine in America. Last I checked, most of their U.S. shows were sold out.

Haha yeah, America sure knows about Coldplay :P

COLDPLAY!!!

They totally reinvented themselves and went outside of their comfort zone on this album!!!!

They worked immensely hard!!

Coldplay absolutely deserves it!!!!!

Man coldplay fan girls have huge sigs.

Well, I haven't heard the In Rainbows album...so I'm gonna go with Coldplay... just because I can!!!

basically i want Coldplay to win but i wouldnt be terribly dissapointed nor suprised if radiohead won. in rainbows is such an amazing album. i guess im just hoping that both win their respective album categories. coldplay with rock and radiohead with alternative. that would make me very pleased. i dont see how each cant win their categories when you consider the fact that they're up for album of the year and their contenders in their specific categories are not (or i think so).

Do yourself a favour and check it out ;)

coldplay doesnt deserve shit! maybe if they didnt rip off Joe Satriani who is supposed to serve them at the Grammys. hahahaha!! cant wait!

Yeah, I'm really rooting for both. Of course I want coldplay to clean-up and make-up for '05, but at the same time I feel Radiohead is a bit more deserving of "best album". Coldplay will definitely rack up several points for the song "Viva la vida" alone, so I wouldn't mind Radiohead winning some of the categories for which Coldplay is nominated.

Good on ya...

I hope viva wins, I really do.

it's a tie, baby!

here's another claim i'm almost certain is true. the 23 people who voted for In Rainbows have all heard VLV many many times. the 23 who voted for vlv i doubt have heard in rainbows more than 5 times if at all.

and the grammys will never give the album of the year award to a "crap" artist. it has never happened and never will. herbie hancock is a musical legend and deserved it last year. as did U2.

i think alot of people on this board need to realise plant n krauss are far far more likely to win than cp or radiohead. if coldplay win it will be a reward for their success over the past decade whereas if any of others win it will be based purely on their latest records. i know thats a big call but its my opinion.

The poll is who you want to win. Not who you think will win.

^^

but briggins my friend. read the title of the thread. who you want to win OR who you think will win? yes the poll is just who you want to win which is what everyone is doing and thats fair enough. but the discussion is about both questions. so here is my final tip 48hrs out

Who Should Win?: In Rainbows by Radiohead

Who Will Win?: Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

and just something extra

Who Will Own The Night?: The English (i hope i dont get caught saying that, i could lose my aussie citizenship!!)

and yay 400 posts :)

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Plant and Krauss win.

I know this is the wrong topic, but I refuse to bump the appropriate thread out of sheer principal. Turns out one of my good friends here at college grew up with the JoBros. I was discussing the Grammy's with him and when I was running down the list of performers he was like "oh yeah, I know the Jonas Brothers, their dad was my pastor, we went on mission trips together...". Kind of a weird coincidence, as this was the same guy whose house is located directly beside the strip of water in the Hudson river where that plane crash landed a month ago.

I want In Rainbows to win, but I think Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends is going to.

Is this for the album of the year, not the pop album of the year nor the rock album of the year nor for the best album sung in latin of the year, but for the overall album of the year?

This is album of the year - overall.
