Because those other ticket sites get them for double price and then mark them up by double again....WHY even advertise a show for sale at $35-100 if you don't even sell the seats at gen sale....AND in this economy....suppose Coldplay want to perform to just the RICH and forget the REAL fans....

and live nation and ticketmaster want to merge?........they obviously want to keep all the best seats and sell them at high price to all the scalping sites........

Livenation and TM do not hold tickets back-it is the band/managment/venue that dictates this policy. TM and LN are contractually not allowed to withold tickets.

Like I say, expect some premium seats packages to come your way in the next week-something which is BS anyway, given a real fan will already have tickets, now they will have to decide to upgrade or stick with what they have.

^who will be offereing those premium packages? Live Nation? or the scalper sites? Just wondering....

EDIT: not that I'll be buying. I'm getting whatever seats I get, and stick with them.

I suspect they will be offered by the band, livenation & TM. Not scalpers, I've been looking and scalpers don't even have that many great seats.

I think they haven't released all the tickets yet. i'm on the site right now and there are tickets for the 200's sections. Only down side is that there's no adjacent seats...They have the "Click and Pick" seating option available too.

yeah ^^ very strange...

I have seen the click and pick and they are saying every single seat in the 100's is sold out! Usually you find odd seats lurking around but strangely none in the 100's.

I think that is all livenation have until a premium seats sale/auction is announced. I find it impossible that there are no seats in the 100's. Livenation was not that busy-usually when there is a rush it takes several minutes to get seats. I think there were very few seats in the 100's and they have been reserved for the choosen ones.

This sucks. I was planning on buying tickets for the 200's section, but I waited until the general sale. I waited for about an hour and 15 minutes, hoping that they will release some of the 200's, but nothing happened so I just bought lawn tickets. And then like 15 minutes later they release some of the 200's. :(

Whatever, at least I'm happy I got tickets. I'm really excited! This'll be the first Coldplay concert I'm going to!

By the way, I noticed that lawn tickets have row/seat numbers, but I thought lawn tickets are unreserved. Anybody know if the row/seat numbers mean anything?

Oh yeah, dont worry about the row/seat number. Lawn is first come first serve, the row/seat number means absolutely nothing, just ignore it.

Im really excited as well! I still need my tickets, are they releasing them in the 200's now? Id be completely happy with that but its not pulling any up for me.

I didn't even bother trying for Reserved 1 and 2. The lawn seats are fine, trust me. :)

Haha actually for me I think it would have been good if the lawn tickets were reserved cause my ticket says "Row G01", and the Click and Pick map shows Row G01 as the lawn row closest to the stage. But I guess I'll just have to camp out...

it is strange. as of now, there are still seats in the 7th row & beyond for single ticket dwellers, the closest rows are in sec 202 & 204. The system must have delayed in its setup, releasing the 200's and the other seating map later.

The great thing about Shoreline, is that there's a great view in the 100s and 200s and the lawn too. I wouldn't recommend the lawn for people who have to take a break for whatever needs you have (food, restroom, etc.) since it's first-come-first serve, you better hope that someone's watching your spot. Me, I like my reserved space, even what little it is. Hope people get some decent seats. :)

I still think they haven't released all the 100 level tickets. They're not even appearing on scalper sites.

I'm so mad I really have no words

I called at like 10:05 and there were only lawn seats. I tried at 8pm tonight for 1 ticket and got a ticket in the 200's. There was something shady about this. Stupid websites mess with the ticketing system and get the best seats and then and try to sell them for $500 each. I have 5 months so I guess I can find some good tickets, but this is really ridiculous. I'm starting to think I may just pay A LOT for a ticket that is like 7th row and just go alone. It would be worth it to me because I love Coldplay so much!

Yeah, we're going to hear more about this because the really haven't seemed to have sold man 100 section tickets yet. They're not on ebay, stubhub, etc. Something is still weird...

I just got an email from a site called Eventful.com saying that Coldplay just scheduled another concert at Shoreline on July 23rd, but I find it hard to believe. There's nothing on Coldplay's website about it and they have a gig all the way in Missouri the very next day... I don't think this info is credible.

Yea I agree, something wierd happened with the tickets. I got two tickets on ebay that are pretty good seats, they weren't cheap but they were way less than all the other ticket sites. I'm just so excited I'm going to get to see them for the first time ever, and good luck to everyone else looking for tickets!!

Yup I don't see any 100 level seats ANYWHERE on the web leading me to believe that all the tickets haven't been released yet.

If this is the case then it is terrible. All the folks who have tickets now have to decide whether to try get better tickets. Plus a lot of you may have already bought from scalpers.

The chances are if you buy the better tickets you then have to sell the other tickets-which means losing money on Lawn Seats (the lawn seats are mostly still available). So potentially some folks will get stuck with tickets they can't sell.

I wont buy from scalpers until the very last week before the show. Until then I'll wait for more tickets to be released or a ticketmaster style official auction.

With a few exceptions I saw seats in the last fews rows of the 100 section, they were priced around 500 each. But it still looks like broker sites did not even get good seats.

One thing that slipped my mind, if Oxfam tours with Coldplay again it would be great for those who weren't able to get tickets. You'd be volunteering for a great cause and would get a free ticket to the concert. Of course seating varies, but it has got to be better than lawn seats, and even if it's lawn seats, it would still be free.

I plan to volunteer this time around, have been wanting to for years. I've done similar outreach programs at other concerts, and it's always been a blast.

I'm just wondering when we'll hear an announcement on this from coldplay, livenation or shoreline because somebody's still got a bunch of tickets...

Hopefully LiveNation will announce something about the remaining tickets. Hopefully they won't package them as VIP packages or something like that and charge a fortune for them. I am very dissatisfied with how they've sold the tickets. Their new ticket-selling system is terrible. Ticketmaster does a much better job.

I have seen tickets that second and third row in section 102 that are going for like $850 each.
