U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin

Featured Replies

Coldplay >>>>The Beatles. :P

I've never been a big Beatles fan. But it doesn't mean I don't like them. I recognize that they were crucial to rock today, and without them we wouldn't have U2, Coldplay, and umm Oasis.

they are my favorite band in the universe... I was born in the wrong decade

Oasis! :cheesy: I was a fan until I saw them live, they were booooring

I like the theory of Oasis, I like most of the albums, BUT I just can't stand them.

If any other formation of people were singing those songs I'd probably have seen them live a fair few times by now :P

Yeah, Oasis has some good music. But I just get so annoyed by their childish behaviour.

Umm, what? Didn't Bono just praise Coldplay the other day, and now he's insulting the lead singer...maybe i'm misinformed, but its still pretty wtf.

Nice review. So are you coming back to Dallas for the July show?

I really wish I could. But I'm most likely going to be at camp all summer again. I have a three day break in the middle of the summer, and if it was ONE DAY earlier I could have gone to see them in Mass. :(

I'm just going to go ahead and say it....

No Line on the Horizon will NOT sell as many albums as Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. AND, Get On Your Boots will not climb as high as Viva la Vida(on a GLOBAL scale).

There. I said it. Let's just see what happens now.

:stunned::lol:

EVERYBODY!

(ADHD, sorry)

No Line on the Horizon came out here today and in the part of the booklet where they thank people, they mention Jay Z, Michael Stipe and....[drumroll]...

CHRIS MARTIN

which makes Bono's comments really weird. I mean its not remotely funny. And the BBC really doesn't want any more "bad behaviour" now does it?:dozey:

Wow...interesting.

A thanks for what I wonder.

Doesn't say.

The plot thickens...

I'm surprised the BBC didn't receive a single complaint about this given the recent escapades of Messrs Ross and Brand

Wow...interesting.

A thanks for what I wonder.

How about the fact Chris promotes U2 in every interview he gives. The man pimps the band more than their damn manager does. :laugh3:

It was joke guys, chill out. But now I wish Chris swears back:P And on the other subject about Viva And Joshua Tree, I think are Rush Of Blood is Coldplays Joshua tree, Viva more like Atchung Baby!

Viva is Unforgettable Fire! Chris admitted that.

LP5 = Joshua Tree.

And will be awesome.

Methinks that's why they kept Famous Old Painters!

Hey, a man can dream. It was such a hyped song, it has to be released

can someone upload the interview please?

i'm pretty much 100% convinced bono was joking. i mean, really, last week he was going on about how much he admires chris's songwriting, and he's worked with chris several times before, all in good spirits...i bet he was just using slightly stronger language in a slip to call chris a cheeky little whippersnapper that was catching up to U2's success or something :P. i don't think he could have meant offense by it, since they always seemed to get on and equally admire each other.

if he did mean it, though, and chris has heard about this, i bet he's curled up in a ball of tears backstage in australia right now . i would imagine being called something like that by your idol isn't so nice :P

He's had years of abuse from Thom though, I'd have hoped he'd have developed a thick skin by now :P

If I were Chris at 4am on a Saturday morning I'd rather be fast asleep :P

Chris doesn't sleep anyway though :P

Oh crap, you mean it's gonna be a steady downward spiral after LP5? :laugh3:

(BTW, the sig rocks)

Look, guys, there's too much evidence in support of Bono liking Chris. Heck, just look at the past week. Not only was there the interview, but he freaking joined him on stage with The Killers! I'm willing to believe this "slip of the tongue" was more of a joke. Just probably not the most appropriate one.

LOL...this just makes me laugh..

Haven't heard it but a. I am sure it was just bono's humour and b. why is the BBC always sooooo concered but the sweering on air...it's sooo out of date, if you walk through the streets here you hear young people saying worst.

plus you never know maybe Chris is a w***...:) and Bono as well...

P.

Chris doesn't sleep anyway though :P

haha, good point :P.

in all honesty, though, i'm completely convinced bono meant it in a quasi-endearing way.
