U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin

EVERYBODY!

(ADHD, sorry)

No Line on the Horizon came out here today and in the part of the booklet where they thank people, they mention Jay Z, Michael Stipe and....[drumroll]...

CHRIS MARTIN

which makes Bono's comments really weird. I mean its not remotely funny. And the BBC really doesn't want any more "bad behaviour" now does it?:dozey:

oh dude! sorry, i didn't see this before. yes, now i'm 200% convinced bono meant it in an endearing way. you don't generally go out and call someone a w***** that you hang out with, make music with, invite to your christmas party, sing bits of their songs in concert, and thank in your liner notes. i'm not concerned :P

As a long time U2 fan (more than 20 years) I can tell you that Bono has a warped sense of humor and that what he said was nothing more than his weird, wicked way of complimenting Chris...I think someone said it a few posts above mine when they said it was his way of being cheeky about his worry that Coldplay is catching up on U2's success.

As for U2.com, I'm sure they are all slamming Coldplay right about now as they often do on there. I have often been attacked for being a Coldplay fan...I just tell people to chill out and stop being so damn paranoid over Coldplay stealing U2's spotlight.

Anyway, I can totally understand why some people would be put off by his remarks...I love Bono, but he is a bit of an a$$.

Thanks for the link Mich :kiss:

Awwwww :heart:

Viva is Unforgettable Fire! Chris admitted that.

LP5 = Joshua Tree.

And will be awesome.

Methinks that's why they kept Famous Old Painters!

Hey, a man can dream. It was such a hyped song, it has to be released

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

If LP5 is as good as the Joshua Tree I tattoo myself with the album cover.

Lets not forget he's a firey little Irish man :P

OMG, media and people :lol:. that was SO sarcastic! he meant it in a nice, jokey way! :laugh4: everyone needs to listen to the interview in context and cool their jets.

i find it strange that radio hosts invite celebrities to apologize for something, however :thinking:

I hope there will be lots of boobies on it!

You have to on the BBC if you swear. Especially after the whole Jonathan Ross thing, they've got to be soooo careful .

He should henceforth be referred to as "Gone-o".:rolleyes:

:lol:

Chill, you guys.

I reckon it's Bono who needs to do that!!:dozey:

What baffles me more is that Bono is now trying to jump on the Chris and his Friends' bandwagon - thanking people like Jay-Z and Stipe? I personally can't hear their input - but hey, it worked for Coldplay!

Chris is actually friends with Stipe and Jay-Z though.

^And if Gone-o carries on like this, he won't be friends with anyone.................. :rolleyes:

Rivalry: Bono labelled Chris a 'w**ker' live on Radio 1

You mean W**ker is a bad word? :laugh3:

Bono is looking a bit well worn these days :rolleyes:

Yes...I had this conversation about what a wanker actually was with Mel, Lori and Angie whilst we were hiding from over zealous venue security in Florida :lol:

It's something like this :whatever:

Or maybe even worn out................................ :rolleyes:
