June 26, 200916 yr I lived through all their music from "ABC" and I guess my most favorite "Thriller" to "We Are The World"... "Billy Jean" and "Beat It"... so many great songs! Learned the Thriller dance in a class and loved dancing it... was so much fun! Then one day at work, doing some surveys in Downtown Disney by one of the shops. Suddenly, they closed the front doors and guests were waiting to get in. I was standing by the window on the side of the building and was totally overwhelmed when I looked through the window and there was Michael Jackson on the otherside of the glass, not more than 2 ft. from me. I will always remember the excitement of seeing him so close. He was a worldwide entertainer and sorry that I never got to see him perform live. I did try to get one of those tickets to London, but seemed impossible at the time. Sold out all 50 shows.... what a bummer to all those people who will be receiving refunds! May he be in a better place.
June 26, 200916 yr if i had tickets i would hold on to them. they are priceless now. not to demean this tragedy.
June 26, 200916 yr I am a very big fan of his, I'd say he was my favorite solo artist hands down. I'm completely shocked and devastated, I was looking forward to his comeback. It wasn't supposed to end like this. :( I'm so sad, I can't even listen to his music or watch his videos. I just start bawling. I had to turn off the tv, because I couldn't stomach the news coverage anymore.
June 26, 200916 yr guess he's not going on tour then huh No, but it's probably the last thing on anyone's mind right now. :(
June 26, 200916 yr what a sad day in music. although i was never personally a big fan of him, or had a chance to be yet, it is without a doubt undenyable that he was one of the most influential musicians of not just the 20th century but of all time. He took pop to the next level, and his influence is hugely seen today (think of how so many artists like britany spears and backstreet boys based their music on live dance shows like MJ). he will be deeply missed :(
June 26, 200916 yr i was just joking, prob a distasteful joke at that. I really am sad, very sad to lose such an icon
June 26, 200916 yr i cant ever remember a time when i didnt recognise songs like Beat It, Billie It and Thriller or even Smooth Criminal. my earlliest music memories are all of michael jackson songs and the hysteria that surrounded them. A TRUE LEGEND
June 26, 200916 yr RIP Michael Jackson. Such a shock to hear of his passing this morning. He wrote some of the greatest pop songs.
June 26, 200916 yr No, but it's probably the last thing on anyone's mind right now. :( Yes - that was a bit uncalled for.:dozey:
June 26, 200916 yr well... the news shocked me this morning, but i always said i didn't think he was gonna "survive" the comeback-tour. he looked so weak and i couldn't imagine how he would do it. it's really sad :( i've never been a "fan", but really liked many of his songs - since i grew up with them.
June 26, 200916 yr I can't believe this is true. Michael Jackson... I grew up with his music. He will be the king of pop forever. Such an icon... What a loss.
June 26, 200916 yr I can´t believe some people in other communities saying bad things about him...:veryangry2: Who never listened to his song and sang along that throw the first rock ! Man, I was 5 years old and enjoyed his thriller cd ! He was a great musician and his material will go on trough ages... King of pop indeed ! R.I.P Michael !
June 26, 200916 yr at first i didn't belived it i thought it was a joke but now :bigcry: his songs "they don't care about us" and "dirty diana" are magic
June 26, 200916 yr Ya, i never really liked him a whole lot, but he was the King of Pop. RIP Michael Jackson :bigcry:
