Assignment #14

After Wembley, Guy decides he's had enough and quits the band to become a monk. Should Coldplay: A) Disband completely and stop touring/recording; B) Find a new 4th bandmate and carry on touring and recording; or C) Not replace Guy, but continue touring and recording.

Assignment 14

I say replace Guy. I don't want them to break up, plus they would probably need a bassist.

14. Definitely C. It would be weird if Guy became a monk (though he is wearing a cross these days...) but I don't see the boys condemning his choice to become one and get a new permanent member unless Guy had some input on who or stopping completely. I could see them doing a "Mew" and still recording just the three of them with a live bassist for tour but not having a permanent bass player.

14.) A. I know I wouldn't listen to Coldplay if the lineup changed. Also, I HIGHLY doubt they'd continue on as Coldplay if anyone left. That's just the kind of people they seem like to me.

14. A

It wouldn't be coldplay anymore they wouldn't be complete! And I couldn't see them continuing without him :/

Assignment 14:

Though it'd be tough to lose the most handsome bass player in music, I'd have to say B. I couldn't bear losing the rest of them too.

A.

Wait I'm a bit confused. I could see how they could continue recording without Guy, because the instruments are recorded separately anyways, so one of the others could just record the bass part, but how would they be able to perform without replacing Guy?

Well with Keane, for example, one guy in the band plays both the bass and the piano. When they play live, they bring a laptop that plays a recorded version of the bass parts. So it could be something like that, I guess.

^They would use "studio musicians" for recording and touring, but wouldn't necessarily have to replace Guy in the official line-up. Coldplay would be Chris, Jonny and Will; not Chris, Jonny, Will and Joethebassplayer.

Yeah, ok I understand now. Although to me that's still basically a replacement, except it'd be unofficial:shrug:

^It would be a temporary replacement though not a permanent one... that's the difference :)

Assignment 15

Chris, Guy, Will, and Jonny decide to take some time off of Coldplay and go solo for awhile. You can only buy one of the four albums. Whose do you buy?

I pick Chris'.

That's a hard one between Chris and Jonny's... no probably Chris's because I just love the piano. And his voice.

Assignment 15

Chris, of course. :D He and Will are the only ones who sing anyway.
