Ahahahah this response is made of WIN!

Straight into his f*cking face!:evilgrin:

He broke it down-with pictures

Totally Sesame's Street way!

Just in case little Andy isn't too bright.

This was an absolutely PERFECT response. Quite a blow towards Mr. Trevor:laugh3:

Some things I want to mention about it:

-Bands rarely have anything to do with creating the ideas for their music videos. They don't design their record covers either. They're musicians, not designers, or painters.

The "Strawberry Swing" video for Coldplay was entirely conceived by Shynola.

^I said that exact same thing in a conversation I had about this accusation with Karen yesterday.

-Equally, the technique of 'top down' films and animations in chalk has been done countless times before. We ourselves were inspired by a section of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer video.

^This is exactly what I said!!!!!!!!!

-If someone who is flying being suddenly made to drop is an idea of theirs we are plagiarising, I imagine we may have to exhume Chuck Jones to get his opinion on the matter.

^I just wanted to bring out how genius and absoutely hilarious I found this part to be.

-And Mr. Trevor's video is NOT groundbreaking either

^BURNNNNNNN. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Creativity involves the constant absorption and spitting-out of influences. However, we never copy.

^Yes:!

-"if artists start accusing each other of plagiarism over music videos, where will it all end? Bands suing each

other for concert effects like pyro, lights and fog?"

^OMG EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best. response. ever.

I love Shynola now:heart:

This Andy Gallagher guy TOTALLY copied Satriani though. He copied Noel and Liam's last name too.

Lol, never mind, THIS response is the best response I've heard:D

WIN x100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

:laugh3: Pwned. :P

Silly reason for it to exist, but that was amazing to see as a fan- It's one of the best descriptions I've seen of how all of the psychic junk floating around in an artist's or storyteller's head is drawn on and jumbled up and turned into something new and wonderful.

Superman, Star Wars, The Simpsons, Miyazaki, Harryhausen, The Roadrunner, some random Youtube stuff, and of course that constantly on the retro videos on MuchMusic classic Sledgehammer- thousands if not millions of artists have all that stuff banging around in their head. Thousands of them will draw on all that stuff. Of course themes will repeat, they're all taking spoonfuls out of Tolkien's proverbial cultural stewpot and working within the limits of their medium. Yet no two results will be quite alike- each artist puts a little bit of their soul into the mix.

I knew there was a reason I liked these Shynola guys. :nice:

That response was brilliant. It was like a slap in the face to Mr. "Coldplay stole my video".

I liked Shynola based on the quality of the Strawberry Swing video but now I really really respect them. It was so well put and they made their point clearly and proved that the claim was invalid!

These poor guys! This must be tiring, people constantly accusing you of copying. Out of billions of music videos, some are bound to be alike right? And anyway, that guys video sucked, and his is very different. Talk about a hunger for publicity!

i like how he tried to make this whole thing masive by writing "coldplay - the copyright controversy" and then shynola come along and just throw that out the window!

Lol, never mind, THIS response is the best response I've heard:D

WIN x100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

That's the best response to a response EVER! ;)

I think we (as Coldplayers) should try to get a hold of Shynola to let them know we're all throwing our support behind them. I hope they don't get the impression that some of the Coldplay management are just saying "don't bother us! Go to Shynola" with their "i'm afraid the creative on the video was written by shynola not coldplay" response.

There's been controversy over this video, period? That's bullshit.

Absolutely brilliant! In your face, guy-whose-name-I-can't-be-bothered-to-remember!

This idiot's video was completely different and nowhere near as good. I can't believe he's trying to ruin one of Coldplay's best music videos ever

Very well done. Especially the ending. It's a real slap in the face.

An excellent response and very convincing!

Anchorman

EXCELLENT!

They could be their own lawyers!

It was good that they went through all of the different ideas that inspired parts of the video. Touché!

Excellent response....well crafted and factual.

Well done Shynola! :)

I'm waiting for the next cash-hungry fool to accuse Coldplay of something else.

It's funny how all these people come out with these claims RIGHT before they're about to release something. Satriani, Cat Stevens, now this douche! And it's always months after Coldplay's releases.

I cannot see why so many people do that....it´s so clear that Coldplay aren´t guilty or what.... it seems as some kind of new entertainment.....:P

EPIC WIN

Equally, the technique of 'top down' films and animations in chalk has been done countless times before. We

ourselves were inspired by a section of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer video.

I-TOLD-YOU-SO! YOU ALL THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY, DAMMIT!
