October 25, 200916 yr COLDPLAY's work ethic puts everyone to shame. The four lads are already back in the studio getting a fifth album together. Their most recent one, Viva La Vida, only came out last year. Since then they've been on a massive world tour which only came to a temporary end last month. CHRIS MARTIN, JONNY BUCKLAND, GUY BERRYMAN and WILL CHAMPION head back out to South America next month to continue the live gigs. But with a bit of time to fill they thought they might as well record an album. The last one was written and put down at their London studio The Bakery. Now they have moved up the road to a posh new purpose built facility. A source said: "They have got a huge reserve of ideas together during their time on the road and they want to get the demos down while they are fresh. They are already excited about the next project." (X&Y folks...remember??!!) Just as Guy said, it really depends on how the ideas shapes up! October 25, 200916 yr I think this news is good, even though Oracle has said in one of her answers that there is no deadline for LP5 yet. And that was like a month ago, so I don't think they suddenly decided to choose when to release it. It is great news to know that they are working on new stuff again, but I think a lot of it depends on how the creative process will go - if it's going to be anything like December 2007, when they finished Lovers In Japan and Strawberry Swing in a matter of days, we could really be in for a new album in late 2010. I think the fans deserve to hear them more often though, even if they don't do a lot of touring - an album in every three years isn't a lot. Ok, judging by other artists, it's not unusual, but look at Jay-Z - he gets an album out almost every year. Granted, Viva La Vida era was extremely productive, but I just wish they'd come out and say 'we'll try to finish it in 2010'. That would be so great. But hell, we'll let them do what they do, and then we will enjoy it to the fullest again! :)
