Yeah, Anja Pärson's fall looked really bad and I hope she will still be able to compete during these games ... but I doubt it.

 

I know! it was nuts! like she actually popped the jump... shows what happens when you're leaning too far back :\ looked like a ski jumping competition...

and yeah, the course was really rough and bumpy, a lot of the girls skied really hesitantly and they got knocked around a lot.

She is one tough girl, as that fall was horrendous and she still took part in the Combined today.

She should get a special gold medal for courage. Respect!

As for Lindsey Vonn, she's an incredible skier, and I was thrilled she won gold! Her team-mate Julia Mancuso did fantastically well to win silver too, as she'd been in the doldrums the past few years.:cool:

Much as I was sad that Vonn crashed out in the slalom leg, I'm delighted Paerson got the bronze as I feel she richly deserved it because of her courage.

The Swedish team didn't even want her to race as she was in so much pain.;)

Game 3 vs. Switzerland. 10th end. Schuster's needs another simple draw to the 4 foot to win. He comes up short. Extra end. Schuster needs a short raise takeout to win, just misses. U.S. loses.

 

Game 4 vs. Denmark. Extra end with the hammer. Schuster needs to peel-out a danish rock three-feet in front of a u.s. rock. doesn't matter if the shooter or our other rock stays. Schuster hits the danish rock dead center, jams it. U.S. Loses.

 

I've been tearing my hair out all week as you can imagine.

 

Not to mention the women's team also screwed up an easy would've-been-game-winning shot in extra ends against Japan.

Speaking of men's figure skating, I just had heart failures every time Evan did a jump. :freak: But he landed them all, and very well, only one was a tad shaky. So I have high hopes for him!
