Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?

Featured Replies

The day Ryan passed away a huge part of me died too. Other than family and friends, Coldplay's music, concerts, and this fan site have been about the only things that have allowed me to feel joy again. Coldplay's music will forever remind me of those moments that Ryan and I shared. Hearing her sing along to "Fix You" when she couldn't really say much more, made me so proud. When I hear it now live I feel as if she is singing with me.

All of us remember our first concert, I so badly wanted to make Coldplay Ryan's first. I know it would have been one of the most memorable moments I would have shared with her. Today, Angie made that dream come true the only way it could. My heart will never mend or feel whole again, but seeing these photos and reading this story have definitely made it feel a bit warmer.

Much love to Angie and to the other Coldplaying members who have reached out take Ryan's MINI on other adventures around the globe.

Viva Angie!!!

You're very brave. It is a wonderful thing you have done to keep Ryan's memory alive in other people by starting this mini cooper project. I don't know you, but I am also a Mother ,and the thought of losing a child is the one devastation in life I'm not sure I could survive. You are an inspiration to Mothers everywhere.

Kelly, having spent the day with you in Tampa way back in August, you're darling no matter what :) And it looked like you were having fun with Chris and Guy, too ;) And looked to be in a very intense conversation with Jonny, too.

I'm just bummed you couldn't be there to take away a little of the Tampa sting. The guys were so nice....especially Will, whom I just couldn't pull the trigger on for a pic request. (Which I KNOW you Dianne, would have appreciated!) As soon as I get my little story together I'll post a few deets that kind of explains why no Will pic.

Yeah, me too :( It's just hard with the kids in school and juggling their schedules right now, and with my husband traveling, just hard to get away. I didn't want to plan too far in advance and believe me, I was well aware of those $300 rt flights to MC from LAX and I could have swung the 4S, too. Family had to come first this time and with my mother-in-law's emergency brain surgery Thursday night, well, maybe it was just meant to be. Next time, though, next time. The kids will be older and more independent when the next tour comes around, and I am so freaking there...

I'm so glad you and Kevin got to go for one last Viva fling and you were able to get your letter signed - I remember you on the hotel floor in Tampa with your amazing posters. That day was fun, regardless :)

I enjoyed your story! :D

I'm glad you had a great time and you got to see them all :wacky:

I'm also glad that you liked a lot Guadalajara

Dammit someone has to help the Mexico economy along! That was pretty funny though. :laugh3: The waiter asked about me when Kirsten went back.

Yeah, I wanna hear that too! I'm sure there is a very good reason though.

EDIT: Removed my comment removed because it was mean.

At one point Chris saw me and gave me a goofy wave smile and the girl behind me freaked out "OMG, He knows you! " :stunned: (around 6:10 mark) and then at end of DWNC he threw me his harmonica! I was filming with my right hand and he threw it to my left hand I started to drop it and Kirsten, who was standing on my right, reached across me and grabbed it. I though for me but no, she kept it. I was more than a little shocked. I was rather upset. When the show was over I asked why she did that. She said he meant it for her. It's funny because before that show started we talked about the 2nd night in MC when Chris threw it to some girl and this guy snatched it from her and big bad ass Kelly swooped in and took it back for the girl. Well there would be no Kelly tonight and now I must push on because we have several more days together and another show. She never mentioned it and never even showed it to me. When we got back to the hotel, she went to bed and I got drunk. End of.

I love when the girl behind you says 'he knows you' and you go like: "I KNOW, HAHAHA!" :D You must have been really proud :D And I don't want to be rude, but Chris threw the harmonica for YOU, not for Kirsten! He was looking at you for sure.. but at least you got that smile from him!! :)

Aw come on, Angie already gets Jonny's guitar, grant Kirsten at least this little instrument :dozey:

Short story long......

I don't really know where to post his because it isn't really a concert review as

much as a fangirl freakout report so I figured this is as good a place as any...

When we arrived in Mexico City Kirsten and Angie were already at the hotel and they had texted that Will and Guy had just left the hotel. I thought damn, I have the worst luck....they'll probably hole up in the penthouse, take room service at every chance & I won't see any of them the whole time I'm here. I swear I'm never going to get an up-close and personal or pic with any of em and I am obviously NOT doing something right for good CP Karma!!!

Well I was wrong.

And it turned out to be a completely surreal experience. You know, to be

following this band around for years now, wanting to, just for one eeeensy beeentsy second, to say "Hello, I'm a big fan yada, yada" to.

...And then you spend the entire weekend trying to avoid running smack-dab into them at every turn!!... and making a huge effort not to look a lot like the crazy stalker couple that you EXACTLY are!!! I don't know why the hotel was so empty at first but that was definitely a key factor in the 'WTF is GOING ON here!?!?" feeling.

Getting to experience it all with Kirsten and Angie was excellent. It's very fun to

be with people who share your insane enthusiasm and excitement for something so random. And it helped to get a boost of bravery from 2 expert stalkers when I wanted to chicken out. Fun, but exhausting, because we were sort of on high alert every time we left the room. As you've read from Angie's report, Jonny & Chloe & baby Violet came to breakfast every morning. Jonny And Chloe, (very pretty in real life) would play the trade off game other parents know too well, where you eat while your spouse follows your little one around the restaurant.....they just ran all over the courtyard paths with her doll-baby and she was so well behaved and adorable.

Guy was indeed up first in the morning and then at the pool for much of the

afternoon both days. It was once again weird because we passed Guy in his spa robe and fuzzy slippers (settle down Berrygirls) in the tiny hallway by the pool....and did that uncomfortable half-smile acknowledgment you do with strangers in close quarters. Then it was pretty much us and Guy and his bff's sunning by the pool for the afternoon.....On the second day Will came out to chat pool side with Guy, the girls and Dan for a bit- but he was in black pants and tee so, sorry Will fans, no bonus to report there.

The pool area was tiny, and for a good potion of the first day nobody else was up

there. Me & my hubbie, and Guy with Debs, Arlene, and is it E.J?. It was so weirdly intimate that I couldn't even look up when I went to get sunscreen -because I would have been right in his face. After that first day, when I got my fan pic with him in the courtyard, we had to make a specific effort not to make eye contact. It was hard at times....when we were the only people in a tiny hallway or in the elevator with them, not to just jump up & down screaming like the crazed fans we are! Even harder to stand right next to them at the buffet and not stare. It took alot of willpower and really, it was exhausting.

On Saturday my hubbie & I were smooching in the elevator on the way back from

breakfast & I had my back to the door. It opened and someone walked

in.....before I even looked I said "Ha, busted" just to get a chuckle from who ever

it was... and IT was Will. We introduced out selves and had a quick handshake and chat. My husband was pretty tripped out after that one, and to us he was definitely the most relaxed and "present" of the four. Unfortunately, it was just so quiet and close that it just seemed weird to ask for a picture you know...

Finally, Sunday...for me the holy grail of my CP fandom. We waited for Chris to finish his lunch on the courtyard.....barefoot.....silly Chrissy..... and then made sure he was cool with a quick photo-op with Kirsten and Angie. He was kind & patient..... Though he did tease my husband for not being faster on the trigger of the iphone camera.

Angie did such a good job with the Mini-Cooper. She got the whole sweet story out so perfectly. Chris was immediately engaged and seemed very touched. Having a daughter myself I know it is impossible to imagine the pain of Julie's loss and it was really bittersweet because I knew that Angie accomplished her mission and helped honor Ryan in a way her mom would love.

On that final day we groveled and begged with the fancy schmantsy front desk for any kind of deal on a room for one more day, and the best they could do was $640.00 for the night! Sooooooo, off we went to a perfectly lovely and much cheaper place. And it was really kind of a relief. I felt like I had just been on a constant stream of adrenaline overload that I really thought I was going to get sick or something! At least I could have my breakfast and actually eat it without feeling nauseous and having to stare at the carpet every time I got up to the buffet. ( Though I stayed so hyped up I didn't really sleep till the second day back home.)

Anyway, it was an awesome weekend to say the least, made even more great by getting to recount the whole damn thing here to people crazy enough to want to read about it.

Here's my piccy with Kirsten & Jonny...yay!!!!!!

Okay, I was just saying, it wasn't meant to be rude. :) It's not my business, it was my opinion.

:stunned: I wouldn't have resist, I mean being with them all day, and not to scream, or talk to them. It must have been hard, but at the same time exciting.

Omg, what a great story again! Thanks for sharing, it's amazing!! :)

Kelly, you described everything so perfectly...I'm glad you had a great time, and I can see how it would be kind of weird and exhausting, lol. And with 4 kids, I know all too well that shift-eating thing, so cute about Jonny and Chloe with the baby.

Nice pic of you, Kirsten and Jonny.
