Guy's old-play: he has an antiques shop

Featured Replies

I must admit it took me like 5 minutes to decide if it was worthwhile to open a thread for this, but you know what? there are a lot of repetitive and not really useful threads, and many people don't even dare entering his thread so here you go.

From The Sun

COLDPLAY's GUY BERRYMAN is giving DAVID DICKINSON a run for his money.

Not by developing a leathery tan but by getting into the antiques game.

The bass player has joined forces with his brother Mark to launch a company called Berryman's Antiques. Mark, a former chef, has moved to Sweden and is sourcing and restoring old Scandinavian furniture.

Then Guy ships the stuff over to the UK and flogs it online after a healthy mark-up to wealthy creative types much like Guy himself.

A source said: "Their stuff sells for anything from a few hundred pounds to a few thousand."

The shop's website...for anyone interested with enough money to buy something. I think I'll stick with Ikea for swedish furniture

Ok, seriously that is so cool  I love it that guy has a thing for antique, weird and old things :wacky:

:cheesy: that is so cool!

except in that picture, Guy- while looking very handsome :wacky:- also looks sort of... sneaky. :shifty:

So thats why he wants our old pictures? So he can use them as part of his antique store?

Wow is there anything that Guy doesn't do! Musician, photographer, music producer, antiques... I guess he likes to be busy!

I'm guessing the Sun must be slow on gossip today if that made it into the paper. Good publicity for the shop though!

After biding like crazy for mad shit on ebay (dixit Matt McGinn), our boy is selling stuff!! WAY TO BERRYMAN BROTHERS!!!

Like the idea!

Maybe he's going to make the walls of the store one big collage of antique photos from around the world...

Antiques shop, sounds just like Guy! :D

that picture is a bit weird though

Cool!

Although he seems to be doing an awful lot these days, second band, producing albums, setting up businesses...:stunned:

I like the fact that even though he's a millionaire and doesn't need the money, he does it because he likes the hobbie and for the sake of having something to do that is enjoyable.

Haha, some of the furniture on that site is kind of overpriced, :P But I guess if they have restored it and stuff... Anyway, cool to see - my grandparents had similar things before they moved! :)

^ From the looks of the website, I think the shop will just be in Sweden and they'll ship it to buyers thoughout the U.K. Although I could be wrong.

Cool

And that photo kind of reminds me of what he might look like in his 40s :inquisitive:

I'm not sure if Guy is really involved in this bussiness, and if he is at what extent. I'd seen this site before and a few months ago it had a note saying they were low on stock... And it was signed by Mark and his wife :nice: So I always thought it was their shop, not Guy's

Wow, very nice. Even though a bit too expensive but nice stuff. :D

Well it was not mentioned anywhere how much he is involved, but they do mention the fact that Mark does everything on the "swedish" part, so as far as I can understand he is the more involved for sure. However we know Guy likes antiques, therefore he probably has something to say well in this business :)

I've also seen it before, and I just remember it was linked from Guy's ex wife interior design website, which is really great :nice:

Even some men are multi-task-able ;) :sneaky:

And sometimes it's good to work on different things to ensure that you stay creative as doing stuff beside the main project may influence you and give you new ideas or perspectives :)
