I'm not sure what this proves. Someone found several YouTube users who admit to doing Coldplay covers. It may very well have absolutely nothing to do with these demos. Nothing in any of those links says anything about the demos being fake or shows anyone admitting to them being fake.

I doubt EMI would have any more of an idea whether it's real or not than we would. I'm sure they haven't heard much, if anything of the new album yet. They probably just gave it a listen and decided it sounded like Chris enough to get it removed.

 

With Coldplay being the only meal ticket they have left I guess they can't be too careful.

 

Exactly! How many songs unfinished were there in the Live 2003 tour diary for AROBTTH? Lots! Songs written on the whiteboard in the Bakery in that one interview/tour thing that happened? Many! As if EMI knows about ALL of them at this very early stage of the new album. I can't believe people are still yapping on about this.

fake, 100% But a Good fake, the "Yeah they do, yeah they do" Gives it away to me, and the Outrageously strong Cockney accent during "1234" However, this is Very, Very alike previous leaked Coldplay Demos, and the piano, is something i could see chris writing and furthermore, Why would EMI remove it?

 

The "I Sent a Satellite" one, much more convinvcing, yet do we know that this is not an old Demo? i mean he does say "Poppy fields" in it But.. The Quality is even worse. My verdict, all faked by a very good impersonator, apart from the Fix You one, that's awful.

i don't think the fact that he mentions poppyfields makes it any more convincing, i mean if i was a good chris martin impersonator i could make a reference to white shadows, but that wouldn't make it more real.

 

and i think whoever did them tried too hard to base them off of the "solar system" thing ("220 miles up", "i sent a satellite", and the mention of "planet earth" in "plan b"). i mean, it wasn't mentioned in the last two roadie blogs, so how do we know what kind of influence it's really having? back in its early stages, viva was supposed to have a heavy hispanic influence, and out of all the demos we got, not one seems to have a noticeable hispanic influence. but all three of the new 'leaks' are related to the space theme.

I don't think these demos are real at all, but I'm wondering, why on earth would someone spend time writing songs and pretending to be Coldplay? Do they get some kind of twisted enjoyment out of fooling people? You'd think if they were going to put this much effort into writing and recording songs, they might as well do it as their own band and not as some creepy imitation of Coldplay. What's the point of all this?
