Sort of, but not really. I've yet to watch it still (ugh), but it's essentially The Walking Dead in a different setting. I can't see the two shows ever mixing.

Why can't people simply leave things alone? I bet this is just the first of many spin-offs, remakes, reboots, etc.

I'm watching it, it's ok. Has it's good moments and silly ass crap that you laugh at. Basically ppl are getting a flu and turning.

Technically the comic came first. TWD came AFTER it. FTWD is actually the latest in the long line of mobile games and shows and whatnot, so the spinoffs and related media has begun a long time ago.

 

To answer your question, 'why can't ppl simply leave things alone?'. Because money. They have a product that everyone is clamouring to get so why wouldn't they wanna sell is to everyone for whatever price they want?

Back to FTWD for a sec. Watched the first 2. It's hard to compare to TWD, since i'm more invested in the characters more. No one so far is really as charismatic as a Rick Grimes so far, so i'm not too attached.

yeah, the action really started to pick up, the walkers are finally appearing. Now i'm more excited about the show.

Today's episode is more reminiscent of the formula TWD has in that it starts out answering the questions from last epi. Then around 40 mins of some 'meh' to 'decent' stuff and ending with a nice flurry of activity. Lastly, its capped off with another scene which we leaves us begging for next week and forgetful of how mediocre the middle 40 was. But hey, this was really just something to keep us occupied until the big show

I thought last nite's episode was pretty good, ahem so anyway Funny or Die has a running piece every Monday, here is this weeks hehehehe

I'm not sure about how I feel about the fear of the walking dead yet... It is kinda interesting on how the season ended BUT it reminds of Rec 4 which it takes place in a boat. (It was scary btw. If you haven't seen it, it was good!)

FTWD was okay... I liked the slowburn approach and some of the really cool character moments, but yeah, it doens't feel special.

 

Plus the poor writers are having a hard time keeping a narrative that actually makes sense... I mean Travis literally flip-flopped his position on everything throughout every episode and that was super obnoxious. Character Logic: All of these innocent families are going to die in the morning, but since they didn't help us when the military came, let's not warn them.

The ending for me was meh. They were trying so hard to make it epic and beautiful, especially with that amazing Antlers song Kettering, but it felt so cheesy haha. I went from like OH SHIT THAT IS SO SAD to laughing in about two seconds when that actor was trying to cry on the beach with his wife putting her hands all over him.

who else didn't have any emotional connection to any of the characters? The only character that was remotely interesting to me was Mr. Strand.

I couldn't care less if the other families had died or something, I thought they were getting more annoying with each new episode. Especially the mothers, I was glad at least one of them died at the end, I couldn't stand them!

But yeah, its hard to compare TWD with FTWD with the former getting a 5 season head start. I think 'fear' will grow on ppl over time. And hey, if not, it was really only meant to be placeholder until TWD starts, so I'm not too bothered either way about its quality
