uhm... question. how do you guys think are the chances to go there without a ticket and then getting one on the day of the gig? (spare ones because people are ill or something.) i probably shouldn't consider this anymore, but i somehow still do because flights are still really cheap. opinions?

Since the maximum bid in the Newcastle auction, is currently £1000 per ticket, how much do people think is correct to bid? Cause I'm assuming that the top 200 bidders will be succesfull, but I would obviously only like to pay the least possible for the tickets lol.

 

The maximum bid probably does not reflect the "going rate" at all imo, so what kind of numbers are we looking at here?! :(

Plus, I'm gonna be in the city by the 20th tbh, so I will do anything to get a ticket when I'm there, but I can't go without my friend, and she'd have to come all the way from europe just on a whim, that we mught get tickets... ugh, it's really complicated! :S

I'm really considering buying from ebay now, but the fear, is that the security is tight and they simply don't let me in!

 

I cannot afford to take that risk, financially. (I can't really afford the tix anyway!)

I don't really know, but I think the chances are very bad ...

I was in the queue at Exeter for a long time last year, and there wasn't anyone trying to sell their ticket, I really don't think there'll be anyone this time around.

I haven't placed a bid yet, but at least one person that put in a bid does not like the seeticket auction process at all. It is different than eBay auctions, because eBay auctions never show what someone's highest bid is. And whoever has the highest bids on there right now, they probably didn't know that was how it would work, they probably had no clue that their highest bid would be put out there for the masses to see right off the bat. The maximum bid amounts have barely changed since the auction started. But again, there's no way to tell what the lowest successful bid is.

 

So to answer your question: I don't know, but it is probably much lower, at least for now. You could probably put in a low bid that you're comfortable with and see if it says you temporarily have a claim on a ticket. But of course, I'm assuming that's how it would work, since I haven't put a bid in yet. I'm going to wait until Wednesday I think (now that I found out late yesterday that I would be allowed to take a day off to account for the trip back home).

I reckon everyone and their dog will be trying that. There'll probably be almost as many people milling about outside the venues as people with tickets inside.

If you have another reason to visit Liverpool then go ahead, but it shouldn't be with the expectation of going to the show, as you'll almost certainly only end up disappointed.;)

The tyne theatre has been mentioned.

 

Almost certainly Tyne Theatre as pantomine runs from 10th December and is on all nights except on 20th where site states 'no performances'. Capacity is 1100 and cannot think of another 1,000 is capacity venue in Newcastle. Academy is about 2,000, so it City Hall, Sage is either 2,000 or 500 and is in Gateshead anyway and Arena is obviously too big.
