This from Coldplay.com today...

"Good morning. We're pleased to report that Coldplay will play two intimate Christmas gigs to draw attention to the problem of hidden homelessness and to raise vital funds for Crisis, the UK charity for single homeless people.

The "Hidden Gigs" will take place in Liverpool on 19th December and Newcastle on 20th December.

The venues will remain hidden until 24 hours before Coldplay step on stage. This gives gig-goers a small taste of the uncertainty faced by the thousands of homeless people who do not know where they will spend the night. Both venues have been hand-picked by the band for their intimate nature, and each has a capacity of around 1,000 people.

General tickets go on sale at 2pm this Friday (12th November) from http://www.seetickets.com/hidden costing £50. There will be an allocation available to Coldplay.com users, using the code CP4CRISIS when you buy.

All other general sale tickets will be sold to people living in and around Liverpool and Newcastle. Only those with a credit/debit card registered to billing addresses with the following postcodes will be able to buy these tickets:

Liverpool: L1 – L40, CH25 – CH32, CH41 – CH49, CH60 – CH63

Newcastle: NE1 – NE49, NE61 – NE71, SR1 – SR9, DH1 – DH9

Click here for a full breakdown of the eligible postcodes.

There will also be an auction of 200 general admission tickets available to anyone around the world. Plus, 30 meet & greet tickets will be auctioned for each gig, which will include early entry, champagne reception, best seats in the house, meet & greet with Coldplay, photo opportunity & access to VIP bar. The auctions will run for one week from 12 November at 2pm, again via http://www.seetickets.com/hidden.

All proceeds from all tickets will go to support Crisis’ vital work for single homeless people. For more information on that, please head to their website.

Good friends of the band Ant & Dec will be travelling home to Newcastle for Christmas and have offered their compèring services for the Newcastle night. Supporting Coldplay on both dates will be the Choir with No Name, an acclaimed vocal choir made up of homeless people and others on the fringes of society, including clients of Crisis.

I don't really get it, will I be able to buy tickets, even if I live in Sweden with the coldplay.com code? or do I need to bid?

No gig in London ? :blank:

To bad i can't be there :/

Sure they playing new songs!!!:wacky:

Omg.. If I can get tickets I'm going to the liverpool gig! :D

if only i lived in the UK aaaa((((

i so want to go :bigcry:

On this website http://www2.seetickets.com/crisis/

I can go, I almost booked the flight tickets.

How many are we gonna be allowed to buy, each?

This is such an important question right now, cause I'm eligible for the Newcastle date ofc, my permantent address is there, and my postcode is on the list! ;)

No, it's OK, Coldplay, I'm not upset that this is THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW that you schedule a Christmas gig somewhere in the UK the day I fly home from the UK. Last year, Devon, this year, Liverpool and Newcastle!

I'm legitimately upset, even though I know I have no right to be in light of what the gigs are benefiting. I've been trying to scheme a way for me to stay in England just two more days all morning. Even if it would be hard to get tickets since my postcode isn't in Liverpool or Newcastle, I'd give it all I had.

SIGH. My last ditch effort will be to read the fine print of my plane tickets and see if I can change the date of flight for free/little cost.

Good luck to everyone else trying to get tickets!

I bloody move to London on Sunday!!! :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

I will definitely not be changing the address on my credit cards though as my current postcode is on the list.

Argh, am too excited.

Hey Craig,

Maybe you can try to ask the Oracle;)

...and this is exactly one of those "I fckin wish I lived in Britain" moments.

Anyway, good luck to everyone who goes for the tickets...

Aaargh I wanna go !!! I'm going to check if it's possible to get there.

If it's legit to buy more than 1/ person, will someone make me the happiest girl in the world ? :p

Because obviously, the tickets they'll be selling with the coldplay.com code will be sold out in about 2.35 seconds

I have an idea... Maybe the people who are interested in going (and who are able to, of course) could be put on some sort of list and if there's anyone who's able to buy a larger number of tickets (the limit is probably eight or something, it usually is, but then again this is a special event...) could sell them on?

 I don't know.

This is great news. I'll have to find out whether my friend is eligible for those tickets. It's cool them doing it in the North particularly Liverpool where they of course relocated to during AROBTTH era.

And please - no more Viva outfits..... surely? That era is OVER!

It won't be 8 for a 1000 capacity gig. Max limit will be 2 I'd imagine, it was 2 for the War Child gig and the Exeter gig last Christmas.

Good plan ! I think they'll probably be able to buy at least 2 tickets/person

Yeah, you're right... :(

:( I hope it is more than 2 per person!

I neeeeed three personally (and I'd love to get one for Anna too :) ) But, I have friends/family who can also try so I might get more.

If I can get more, then I will definitely try to sell them on to people on the boards. I want the place full of real coldplay fans rather than just whoever would bid the most on ebay or whatever.

I wonder if there will be any appearing on ebay though, is there some kind of set-up to stop that, i.e with names on tickets or something? :/

i'm pretty sure it'll be really difficult this time. It's only for residents (apart from the auction ticket, which will go really high, so only for rich people).

if somebody THERE IN LIV OR NEWC can take 2 tickets for me, i book for myself in list:D

THANKS

*smothers in hugs*  I'll gladly take that ticket!

I think that they might be needing the credit card at the entrance. That's seems to be all the rage these days.
