FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010

Featured Replies

i have to say, i don't really appreciate being called ungrateful. it's not like i roasted the band for anything. i said i felt shortchanged. i'm sorry if i didn't have as good a time as everyone else. i didn't even need the band to come to have a good time. my expectations weren't by any means outrageous.

i'm just a different type of fan than a lot of people here. coldplay are the top 25 of my itunes list, so it's nothing to do with how much i love their music. i'm just not devoted in that personal way. i mean...we had to sign contracts and everything. this wasn't like we just showed up and had a nice old time. i knew we were being misled, but if i knew the direction i wouldn't have gone.

some people will be annoyed i suppose at my saying this, but at this moment it's thanksgiving and i've been away from home for months. the best part of the night was meeting fellow coldplay fans and singing and feeling apart of something, but i think i might have been happier eating turkey with my friends.

i love coldplay. they're my favorite band. i think the guys are great guys. this refrain can be seen through hundreds of posts on this forum. it's certainly cool what happened, but i didnt feel the warmth i needed today.

Aw... :\

*HUGS*

You certainly have the right to feel this way. So sorry you do though...

I hope that hearing the song again next week and seeing the video will make you feel better about tonight! :) :)

Weird

Weird that you didn't meet miller and co

Weird that you didn't meet the band or chat with them

Weird that they didn't gave you "souvenirs" ( gifts , signed stuff )

Also weird they made you sign that and you could tell about the vid

Great you all appeared on the vid and heard the song

oh there was a raffle and the guy won a signed copy of Minced Pie

Yeah, I agree. . . this isn't something I'd expect from Coldplay. . . :anxious: They're usually pretty straightforward.

Almost sneaky, but not a bad sneaky. . . I don't make any sense.

This was an incredible night.

Was I hoping to meet the band? Yes.

But i got something so much more. I got to be part of the band's legacy, from tonight forward.

Meeting the guys would have lasted maybe 10 minutes? Being in this video, and building the camaraderie with my fellow freezing-to-death fans, is a memory that will last me for always. And the video will be played on and on and on.. how many times? For how many years?

Yes, the band could have paid for extras to come in and do what we did. But what they elected to do was to GIVE US A GIFT. And that gift was to be part of their team, even if just for one night. They weren't sitting among us, but they were aware. Chris evidenced that with the message he gave us - live.

Yes, I spent money and traveled a looooong way to come for this.

I'm not sorry, I am blessed and honored. I am so glad.

And to Phil and Nat and Petra and Custard.... I love you.

And I love Coldplay.

lol

really though, i've got nothing against the band with all of this. i guess coldplay just do things that make me feel warm and tonight it just didn't feel that way. i'm sure i'll feel different about it all in time. it's an incredibly cool thing. but the warmth tonight came from fellow coldplayers and not the band. i mean...we met debs i think. but that wasn't even obvious. we were on a boat with a film crew. the whole confusion about what we could and couldn't say started because they hadn't even known the band did their press release on the site last night. not as though they should. it's not their job to know.

i don't know, most people will probably just be annoyed at me.

this will last longer than meeting the band, yes. i'll get to say i was in a coldplay video. but, if only at this moment, that will mean more to people hearing it than it will to me.

maybe i'll thaw off and in the morning change my tune. hope people won't roast me then if i do.

This was an incredible night.

can't wait to see you all guys in that video!

That's nice to hear. I for one will be looking out for the video to be viewed by millions of people the world over. Hope it wasn't like Shakin Stevens though!

it's ok to post your thoughts, this is a discussion forum afterall. Is also ok if other people disagree but you have the right to post whatever you feel like posting. I'm sorry it wasn't that awesome for you.

I expect some Coldplayer pictures tomorrow, everyone! :whip:

:lips:

oh there was a raffle and the guy won a signed copy of Minced Pie

It was me that won the signed minced spies raffle.

And I swear it wasn't a fix! :P (you'll understand

If you were there ;) )

I've just left the Christmas lights set, saw most of it filmed. It looks GOOD.

Chelsea and co are still there hoping to meet the band, but I had to leave for my train.

Though I spoke to Chris and Phil came over to talk to us for 5 minutes. That was aces.

Tonight was insane.

lol

I think people understand that. It might have been a bit of a hash and I don't think the band meant any offence as they were probably oblivious to your expectations. Sounds like the people who manage the band could have done so much better.

lol

they seriously didn't know they had announced it last night?:shocked2::shocked2: weird...

It was also a special day for you because of Thanksgiving and all...maybe that's why you felt down. I hope you get a positive balance out of this experience in the long run :nice:

How much you offering on ebay?? :laugh3:

How much you offering on ebay?? :laugh3:

Haha, it's funny because everybody on Facebook was like 'sell it on eBay'

But the fact that I had a 1 in 100 chance of winning it and did renders it priceless

Hold on, I'll tweet a pic of it and post the link here in a mo!

I never said I felt other people couldn't say they had a great time. I'm not disagreeing with anyone. I'm saying people shouldn't call me ungrateful. I don't think that constitutes them disagreeing with me. That's calling me something...

Either way, I don't really feel like being this person anymore. Coldplay are my favorite band after all and I'm in a video of theirs. I'm one of a hundred fans who can say that. That's pretty fucking cool.

I just hope I don't look stupid in the video! :embarrassed:

i think the best part of tonight was meeting some nice people. hearing the song was nice too but surely they could've had better speakers?! the sound was really distorted when the whole band was playing in the song.

i am a big coldplay fan, but the whole 'being immortalised in their video' stuff is a little misleading. i really hope that people manage to see themselves in the video, but considering how many people were hidden behind others its unlikely. and also considering how short the actual part is that we were needed for i guess a lot of people might be disappointed.

sure it was pretty nice to go on a boat ride, but i couldn't help but feel sorry for anyone who had travelled a long way just to be hidden behind some balloons and other faces whilst freezing in the cold.

Awesoomee ! Why did you chat about with chris? Anythig about the álbum? The video was like a big production or Just simple?

Did they confiscate your phones and cameras again while you were there? :sneaky:

It looks like a nativity play. And there are fireworks and big red curtains. And the boys new look is smart grey shirts with black over jumpers and red roses on their chests.

But i just shouted 'Chris' as he came by and he said 'hey what's up!?'

:D

Okay, here it is! :)

Ohhhh that looks so beautiful. That could be worth quite a lot given it's relative rarity and the fact that it's signed.

Oh Just whats up?

Roses you sayd :uhoh:
