When do you think LP5 will come out?

Featured Replies

it seems that they (Coldplay) want to see us suffer for the wait!:laugh3::sneaky:

Or, as I said few posts ago, they are keeping all secret because they want to make us a surprise (and I really hope so!)

I worry that I may push my excitement to a fever pitch, but I was wondering if anyone would agree with what I think might be another clue towards the festivals being a means of promotion for the album.

While the new site uses a number of new animations on the top screen, the one with Live Transmissions shows the UFO crossing the globe. Obviously, when the actual touring begins this will make sense. But does anyone think it might be meaningful for the festivals or, gasp, am I just another Coldplayer looking for hope!

It might be. I think there was some speculation about how the stage looked like a UFO on here.

I'd never reveal anything guys. The official website is the place to find info. I don't tweet work stuff either. Sorry!

Debs Wild..

I propose start hunger-strike until we get release date or at least single.

Chris, if you read us, I know you do, it will be on your conscience!!!

Sorry for being mean, but I really don't understand why there's a need to be so annoying stalking the people working for Coldplay to have news, if they want to reveal something they're gonna do it through the official website, how many times do we need to be told this?

Debs and Vicki have been way too kind in their answers

I know..

I won't ask them again.

Today I asked Vicky and she answered.

And debs made it clear that she won't tell.. :(

At first I thought they may give us clues

Singles don't have to be released close to the album release date.

For Oasis's (What's The Story) Morning Glory (which has shifted 25 million copies by the way!) their first single of that album Some Might Say was released 6 months before the release of the actual album in October 1995!

That single was released while they finished recording and mixing the other songs on that album and if I'm not mistaken Oasis's summer was littered with touring dates which were mainly festivals including headlining at Glastonbury! Then came the launch of that iconic album in autumn 1995 and the rest, as they say, is history!

Parallels with Oasis's (What's The Story) Morning Glory then!

^ so ... 25 million For lp5

Haha

Give it 15/16 years!

Hmm...well Arctic Monkeys recently posted a new song on their website randomly without warning and then about a week later announced the release date of their new album.

Coldplay might do that? Just spring something on us...that might go with what Jonny says about a new single 'sooner than we expect'

all that talking, guessing, thinking,:bomb:ing is annoying me and it's thrilling expectations into nowhere.

I'll just chillax, wait and see. so I'll get really surprised the day there is news spread to the world.

I hope they do it in a sudden rush without announcing anything. not a week before, not a day, not even a second..

2012! word. :wacky:

oh but I think we should invent an :ufo: smiley in the meantime! :ufo: :ufo: :ufo:

Not sure when exactly the single will be released, but I'm willing to bet that they play it at least once on their summer tour (perhaps at Glasto??)

But I'm sticking with October for the album release

Yeah guys, let's just wait and see...

When the festivals start, there's going to be at least a little bit more information, since the boys themselves will have to face the press.

Well, I guess this is a good of time to post as any, so...hello, everyone! :)

And I was thinking that at festivals, maybe they won't play material from LP5 but newer B sides instead? Like Don Quixote or something else? Sorry if someone already suggested this!

Cheers! :D

Blagh. I'm so over waiting for something new from them. Seriously, no matter how little time or how long a time before a single/album was released that they announced something new was coming people will still buy it. I don't get why they need to be all secretive, just announce the damn thing already or give some definitive answer that it won't be coming until the fall. Annoyed fan is annoyed. :|

agreed, and I love your avi :P

Cheers to you too :)

To B or not to B, that is the question! Maybe B or Maybe A, Quixotic as that choice may B.

LP5 will come out in this century we believe, or somewhere in the space-time continuum.

Next Tuesday..Just wait...

k maybe not.

When the announcement is made... I have a feeling it will come earlier in the week(like monday or tuesday) rather than later in the week. Let's hope there will be an announcement next week :)

agreed, and I love your avi :P

Why, thank you! Isn't he wonderful? I love your avi as well :D *high-five fellow Starkid/Darren Criss fan*

In Coldplay land, wouldn't it be so very fun if they didn't release something until 2012? Then we could make a whole new poll. Or just all give up on waiting...watch it be announced tomorrow...

I agree! I cringe when people tweet staff members about Coldplay stuff. Leave the poor people alone.

I've never tweeted (as I don't twit) to a staff member, but I don't get what's so bad about it. People are just excited. And most of the people responding are essentially Coldplay's "media/public relations" team. It may get a bit annoying to have to say the same thing, but it's not like they're in the same room and a Coldplayer is just like, "SO...any news??!?!?!?!"...five minutes later..."SO...come on you must know something!!?!?!"

Obviously, there's a line crossed when some people start being openly annoyed about the time the album has taken to be made and released. I don't mean on this forum, where we can say mostly whatever, I just mean to Coldplay or their staff. The person who caused Debs to initially answer the question about new material at festivals essentially called Coldplay daft if they didn't play new stuff - not really cool.

But why can't people ask questions to those they're directed to? This much hype for an album is a good thing for Coldplay and EMI.

^ It's their personal twitter, so don't bother them with Coldplay related things!
