Most random place you've heard a CP song?

Featured Replies

When I was in a small town in Greece in Summer 2008, I passed in front a place (a bar or something) and there was Daylight playing really loud. It really surprised me because it's an old song, it never was very famous and it was during the Viva hype. Had to stop and linger in the street to hear the rest of it .

  • 4 weeks later...

Just heard the opening of "The Escapist" on a Dateline NBC special about the upcoming royal wedding. I've heard several Coldplay songs as background in specials about Wills and Kate.... are they fans?

Playing in a little first aid shack at a ski resort. It cheered me up even though I knew I had broken my thumb :p

I know, I saw/heard that! Did you notice they also played snippets of The Scientist and Clocks? 3 Coldplay songs and 1 Elton John song in that little montage at the end of the show. :|

Once I heard Lovers In Japan in a bike shop, and two weeks later again in that same bike shop:D

Bowling alley

At a bowling alley, and then coming home. I heard the scientist there and coming home I heard yellow.:P

The Viva la Vida remix, at a disco :inquisitive:

Viva remix too, at my school carnival party :) It was cool at first cause everyone including me were feeling the flow at the disco garage and when it starts playing some people "wake up" and start smiling at me and pointing and i felt in heaven. But by the third time it was played it was getting really boring.

hmm let me see....at a party my friend played Viva off his phone, and I sang it for everyone...And the weird thing was he didn't know I was a fan..soo kinda random I guess.

Not sure if this counts... but I heard "Fix You" during a basketball game on tv last night lol.

I think I'm gonna win this round...

So, the other day I was at the Dentists office, and the radio was playing Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones. The dentist was prodding around in my mouth and it really, really hurt. But then the song ended, and on comes THE SCIENTIST! :D I went into a trance and the pain faded slowly...

But even weirder...I live in Hawaii, so my family went on a two hour whale-watch tour (we get local discounts :laugh3:). After an awesome tour, we were zooming back to the harbor. I was in the very front of the boat, and the wind was whipping past so powerfully that I could barely hear anything. All of a sudden, my brother (leaning over the rail next to me) turns with a twinkle in his eye. "Recognize that?" he asks, pointing the loudspeaker behind us. Like I said, the wind was so loud that I couldn't hear anything. I crawled over there and put my ear to the speaker, and...what do you know? SHIVER!

I spent the next three minutes singing along at the top of my lungs. Luckily, none of the tourists could hear me, the wind was so loud. Heck, I could barely hear myself~ :laugh3:

Not so much random, but funny. I work at a Sonic Drive-In and I hear remixes all the time. The regular recordings too, but mainly a lot of remixes. Sonic Radio likes Coldplay, I presume.

The dentist's office for me as well

I heard Lost on the radio there, and I started to discuss Coldplay with my dentist.

It was strange. Nice, but strange

I was out for dinner the other night and it was this super nice restaurant and they were playing live versions of songs and i heard 3 live coldplay songs while i was there! pretty sure it was trouble, talk and clocks!

this story is sad....in a wedding, at the end in a nice garden in a summer night, candles, drinks,........two girls friends and me speaking about times passed when we was very young ....well the band in front of us playing In my place......it was so sad and splendid of course!:P

The radio played Viva when I was about to die on my nerves on the laser waxing room... believe me it hurts much more than going to the dentist! :p but yeah just like you said I got to some other divinal dimension and it was way easier to go through it...

I heard "Don't Panic" at Pizza Hut last weekend. :) it was really noisy at the restaurant and suddenly I recognized those chords, then my head started singing along :) crazy fact, i was thinking of coldplay before the song came!

Possibly not crazy at all, I'm going to assume that you're thinking of Coldplay a lot of the time. :P

In A computer shop again think it was Talk again
