Most random place you've heard a CP song?

Featured Replies

8 days ago I was sleeping in a bamboo hut, in the hills North of Chang Mai, Thailand....2 hard hiking days into a hill tribe trek. In the middle of the night, on my flea infested mattress, under the mosquito net I hear DA duh duh, DA duh duh.........Clocks.

I'm thinking "wtf, that CANNOT be a text message alert? And to make it even more perfect, it was from The Angie.

I rarely text, I have no idea how it happened, and I didn't get any signal after that few split seconds ...but it was just wonderfully weird.

Technically it wasn't a full song but it got me thinking it would be fun to read some other stories......

Anyone else have a weird or even inappropriate place have you been surprised by a CP song??

I've heard "Speed of Sound" while in the grocery store and "Viva la Vida" in a bubble tea shop. Those aren't really that wierd, but the wierdest I can think of.

 the only one I can think of right now was at the dentist's, while he was pulling out one of my teeth White Shadows started playing on the radio. It's not a weird or inappropriate place, but it was an unusual situation

ive heard lovers in japan (osaka sun mix) and strawberry swing in this one ruby tuesdays on two seperate occasions, i guess whoever works the music in there like coldplay :)

My hairdresser puts Coldplay into Pandora when I have an appointment. Not too weird, but it really surprised me the first time. The first time I went to her was a few days after I won tickets to a meet and greet, and she remembered that the next time, and from then on.

Kelly, your hike sounds amazing. We only had three days in Thailand when we went and spent them all in Bangkok.

Lovers In Japan in the local Mexican restaurant

Go Sagebrush Cantina!

I was undergoing surgery and before I was out, I remember hearing Fix you playing in the O.R.

Slightly ironic. ;)

Dianne...I bet that kind of thing happens to all we crazed Coldplay lovers.... I know every time I go to a party it'll be a few seconds till someone hijacks the tunes to put on a CP song for me. I'm tempted to say "it's OK, I DO enjoy other music" but actually I never, ever mind!!

(Bangkok is a wild and intense place isn't it? We're traversing the country with the kids for 3 weeks and back to Bangkok before home.)

in a shopping centre.. they always played folk music but suddenly clocks started :D i shocked and almost fell down :D

In Greece.. While I was in the pool area..Most of the music was new and techno music..

:awesome:

MY hairdresser has a Cd full of songs, and Cp was every other song so it was a great 3 hours.

Trying on clothes in Kohls, Strawberry Swing......

Walking out of the Mall to my car, passing Gators Dockside Resturant, they were playing Glass of Water, so I sat down on the bench to finish listening to it:lol:

At a stop light a Lady had Viva playing quite loud and I rolled my window down the rest of the way and got her attention and held up the VLV CD case, she gave me a thumbs up:rolleyes:

I've heard "Lovers in Japan" in JFK airport and also in the grocery store. And in the chair at my oral surgeon's office I heard "Talk."

But the craziest place I've heard a Coldplay song was in church! Our minister of music knows that I am a CP fan and he played "Fix You" as the Communion hymn during Mass. He changed the words to "God will guide you home and ignite your bones/and God will try to fix you." I don't think anyone except he and I knew it was a CP song. I was serving as a Eucharistic minister and I almost dropped the cup.

He changed the words to "God will guide you home and ignite your bones/and God will try to fix you.".

Is that permitted?:stunned:

Hm. . . At an airport they played God Put a Smile Upon Your Face and at a Bed Bath and Beyond they played Glass of Water.

Oh, and in a random restaurant in Boston they played The Hardest Part.

At the grocery store they played LiJ (Osaka Sun version)

I heard Strawberry Swing in Golden Coral yesterday, just about made my day

Like at 4 in the morning a car stopped down the corner of my street(;)) and was playing fix you leftright version with a high volume :p

Tracey, Kohls all over the country must use the same playlists because I hear Strawberry Swing a lot there. Lol.
