8 days ago I was sleeping in a bamboo hut, in the hills North of Chang Mai, Thailand....2 hard hiking days into a hill tribe trek. In the middle of the night, on my flea infested mattress, under the mosquito net I hear DA duh duh, DA duh duh.........Clocks.

I'm thinking "wtf, that CANNOT be a text message alert?

Wow I thought I was going to read something interesting for a second.

I don't see how music YOUVE played can really count, that's like saying you were 300 feet underwater between Sri Lanka and India and put on some underwater earphones and OMG WTF IS SPEED OF SOUND DOING HERE?!

I heard Square One at the gym yesterday...

I heard Square One in a square -Sol- in Madrid today:wink2:

I heard Clocks in my school's festival !! It was so dramatic..

At my local mini market, in my home town... veeeeery small place, it was so odd!

it was Clocks :)

(and sorry for the late reply)

In 2003 they played The Scientist in a Colombian soap-opera "Betty La Fea" (the original Ugly Betty), when a couple was dining in a restaurant. I thought that was pretty random :P

These aren't that random, but:

I was listening to the radio a few weeks ago and I randomly blurted out "They should really play a Coldplay song right now--something like Speed Of Sound or Talk". Right then, the song ended and Speed Of Sound started playing. :awesome:

And then the other day when I was in Sears being bored out of my mind (I hate shopping) I thought to myself "you know, if a Coldplay song came on right now, it would make this entire shopping trip worth it". About 10 seconds later, Clocks came on!

Apparently, I have telekinetic Coldplay powers :smug:

I was reading your message while listening to the radio and at the EXACT second when I read "something like Speed of Sound or Clocks" they started playing Speed of Sound :stunned: :laugh3: you definitely have a strong Coldplay radio related aura or something. :D

I once randomly heard Speed of Sound at like 1 am on a local japanese radio... Followed by Mickael Jackson's "Black or White" and the "Imagine" from the Beatles.

It felt a bit weird but I was glad "Speed of Sound" was part of the classics for the radio djs :wacky:

I was in a motorbike store today with my friend and suddenly there was "A Message" playing through the speakers! :wacky: IN A MOTORBIKE STORE!!! I still can't get over it, HAHA!

^^ LOL, that's such an odd song to hear in a motorbike store, but still cool that you heard a CP song while you were out and about. :D

Stanley Cup Final..

Viva La Vida was played when the bruins won!

Glad I could be of assistance! :laugh4:

My college has a pool that plays music underwater. It was playing "Clocks" a few weeks ago while I was swimming.

TOTALLY worth the hike in tuition to pay for the new rec center :laugh3:

You heard Clocks underwater?! That is really cool!

Yeah I almost drowned because I wanted to listen to it for longer than I could hold my breath!

It was really cool. Actually one of the few times I've gotten to use it. Usually the pool is just a competition area/diving practice place. Which is lame.

I posted about this quite a few months ago when I first came across it. I was watching an online promo for a bull riding dvd, and they were playing Politik in the background of the video!

I've heard Coldplay songs various times in malls and stores, and I always love when I get to hear it unexpectedly.

Glass of Water at a Sports Authority...and Christmas Lights several times in various Roman bars and gelaterias. Life is better with Coldplay in the background.

At an English Pub at Fourth Street Live in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. I was attending a Beatles festival there (I go every year, you should, too) and was in the Pub having lunch with friends when "Low" came on. Do you ever expect to hear that song ANYWHERE?

You can say that again.

Whoa, you would expect them to play Viva or Yellow or something  Was that ever a radio-friendly song?

I grew up in Louisville and know that pub you're talking about! I'll have to be sure to check that place out next time I visit :D
