thats the revolutionary stage U2 used back in the early 90s. it has somewhat been emulated by Muse in their recent tours, thats what he means by zoo tv dna.

but i think Muse's recent stadium stage has gone in a different direction to U2. better or worse? i can't say but it is most certainly different. they've also started using those 3 platforms in their arena's which has taken arena shows to a new level. for too long shows of that size were really only enjoyable if you had the seats or were on the barrier. but Muse's Resistance tour stage seemed to work to the advantage of everyone in the venue. something other bands haven't been able to do as well as Muse.

this is the muse stadium stage i'm talking about

Oh, I see, thanks! :nice:

That is a pretty cool stage. :wacky:

I loved Muse's arena stage because for the people in the very back of the seats, it made it much easier to see them. :wacky:

One of my pics, so you can see how easy it was to see them

And the stadium stage was great too, although it wasn't designed as well for everyone to see perfectly. . . it was a bit too much imo.

it has taken a good 20 years for anyone to get close to it. U2 have been effectively chasing their own tail since Zoo TV.

while we're talking about live shows. in my opinion coldplay have a long way to go with their live show. a good move might be having the "other 3" look like they actually want to be there. i've seen plenty of bands in recent times but none are dominated by one member as much as coldplay. i know chris is brilliant but the best bands are the ones who actually perform as a band.

Coldplay though don't take themselves too seriously performing live which is a good thing I feel. When you watch them live you don't think of them as the massive band that they are. They're very personal and intimate which is the way it will stay hopefully! I think that's why they always get good press when performing live.

For most of us who do not like Coldplay it is because we used to like them, but decided to stay on the board because there are some really great people here and the non coldplay forums are pretty cool.

and your taste in music is similar to other coldplay fans?

thats whats keeping me on this forum. i still love coldplay but out of my 4000 posts i think 3900 would be in the world of music section. so i guess i enjoy talking about music more than i like talking about coldplay.

exactly! some people can't understand this

Hmmm.... How can't you like Coldplay anymore?

I've been a fan for 10 years and I will never get sick of them

not considering coldplay, do you like exact the same things you liked when you were 7 years old? That'd be weird

weird. When I saw them they were pretty much being rockstars. Wasn't very intimate or personal at all tbh.

Music doesn't appear very intimate or personal but I thought their overall presence was much more direct to the audience than other bands.
