Lihyahm
I think I'll probably just wait until they inevitably return next year touring their new album. $400-500 is more than I'm willing to pay just for four bands I like.

givelovesolong
Best news to wake up to! I'm looking at flights right now, but waiting to hear from a friend to see if she'll come with me. So excited!
Lihyahm
How do you know this for sure? It's on the Splendour website. Kanye's not playing any other Australian gigs this year either.
deaths_friend
my chances of going have gone from about 10% last night to about 40% now. won't be booking flights until i have full confirmation from friends. really hoping coldplay doesnt clash with any of my other favourite acts on the line up (which for the record nothing compared to last years) and as disgusted as i am with the ticket prices i think i'll end up getting the camping ticket because its only $120 extra which is less than what 4 nights accommodation and travel to the site will cost me. deaths_friend
i'll be very surprised if they announce an act as big as beady eye in the second announcement. if they do you won't be hearing any complaints from me.
givelovesolong
Yeah, camping ticket seems more worth the while. And flights to Brisbane are relatively cheap, so score. My friend wants to go, so it's looking like I'll be heading to Queensland!
sparkelingcityatnight
:( so theres no chance of coldplay coming to the west coast (perth)? gah, i really really really want to see coldplay again :(

crestingwaves
I'm working on my fellows here to get a group going up from Adelaide. I'm still tossing up whether it's worth it, or whether to wait til they do their album tour. I don't care what the Oracle says, if they're doing festival shows without playing any new material, I'll be sad..especially after $500 to get there etc.
Chloe_Martin
Wait when you think about it is it worth spending all that money for like 3 or 4 songs?
givelovesolong
I thought they'd be playing if not a full set, at least close to. I thought the main acts usually took the stage at around 10PM and were done sometime near 12AM, if I'm not mistaken?
deaths_friend
i'm very curious to see what they decide to play at splendour. if they want to please the predominantly triple j crowd it will have to be nothing past 2002 material. if they do they're normal show i guess it will be a mix of hits plus the odd new song.
