[5-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago

I'd assume so. Make sure you specified for the wristband to be shipped to you. Otherwise, you will need to redeem a voucher at will call or the gate (not 100% sure).

Well I got the collectible credential or whatever and shipped wrist band, but do single day passes have wrist bands? Anyway I hope I dnt have to redeem a voucher :\

Don't think they do wristbands for single day. (unless they changed something this year). The wristbands are pretty much for the 3-day people to come and go from the grounds. With the single day, don't think they allow re-entry; once you're in, you're in for the long haul.

You'll be good to go with the wristband. They just check it when you walk in to see that it hasn't been tampered with. It's the best thing they shipped them this year.

Yea that's why im confused. I got the one day pass and I just hope they send the tickets because I dnt think ill get a wristband. I guess ill have to wait and see then....

Got mine today.

Can I just say how much I hate UPS! I got the email a few days ago with the tracking number. All it said was a shipping label has been printed and once the package starts moving in the system they will update the info. so I check and check each day and nothing. Today I look and it says it was delivered (was never tracked in route) and was left on "the porch" at 4:43 P.M. First off I was home at 4:43. Can these idiots not knock on a fucking door! Second, it was not "on the porch" it was in the bushes. I have already had one package stolen off my front porch. I have told them not to leave things there.

3 weeks :dance::dance::dance:

I might have had a panic attack if that had happened to me, but I'm so glad you finally got your ticket!

:lol:I can't believe there's only 3 weeks left!

I haven't got mine yet! :(

I emailed them and they said they wouldn't start mailing till the 20th im like wtf! I want my tickets now!!

and I haven't ordered my shirt :\

Oh and yea I dnt like ups either. When I ordered a poster once, they left it outside the mailbox, right by the road! So easy to steal >:(

At least fedex leaves it right outside the door and rings the doorbell.

Waiting for my ticket still as well.

Not long now!

Received my wristband today. Cloth wristbands seem to be all the rage these days.

Also, Friday single-day passes have now sold out for those who were dumb enough to wait this long.

Yeah!!! Got the wristband and lanyard today!!! Finally! See ya'll there and will be headed for the front after I check in at hotel. This will be a great time and looking forward to hanging with the Coldplayers! :)

The Lolla phone app is now out, as is the official 2011 park map. Good news for you Coldplayers, as you don't have to walk too far from the entrance to get to the north stage where Coldplay is playing. (unlike me, who might collapse in the humid dash to Muse on the south)

The app is pretty awesome. Custom lineups, interactive map, food locations, and GROUP TEXTING. It might be a good idea for all Coldplayers to get each other's contact info to take advantage of group texting at the festival. Useful for meetup locations too.

So how hot does everything everyone think it will be in Chicago? lol. I live in Vegas am used to 100+ temperatures but the humidity will be completely different for me.

Just ordered my shirt...not in light blue though. I couldnt have yet another coldplay light blue shirt (it would have been my 3rd) so I went with a light grey, (planning for it being hot so I went for the lighter colors)

hope we all dont die of heat exhaustion!

That's what I am worried about :\ I've never been to a festival before and I know it gets really hot and humid in Chicago.

What time are you arriving there on friday? at the gate? I know it opens at 10 but what time do you plan on getting there?

I am not quite sure yet, do you think there will be people lined up before the gates open? Probably huh? LOL.

Damn, haven't ordered my shirt, and haven't got my tickets yet :(

how long does it take for the shirt to arrive?

Oh and I dowloaded the official app, its pretty cool, I had also downloaded the app called plan-a-palooza its similar.:)

It'll definitely be humid, but not unbearable. Water water water. No booze, water! :-). Make sure you chow too (great food there). Some people bring those little portable battery operated fans or spray bottles to mist themselves. I've been fine by dressing light and staying hydrated. Not much shade by the main stages in past years, tho. Just an FYI.

Lol^^ I'm making my own shirt too, I don't have the money to buy one of them...

But me and my friends hope to be front row

I think I'm just gonna wear my Viva t-shirt. And we are definitely gonna be front row, Nicole :D

I'm soooo excited!

This was my plan to get front row for Coldplay:

I am going with Nicole (MrsMartin333) and Stefan (Stefan-C8) and we wanted to wait at the North entrance by the Art Institute (I'm from Chicago so I know the streets pretty well haha) and we were planning on getting there by like 8 AM, is this a smart idea or not? The normal entrance is the west one, but they have another one that's right by the Bud Light stage, and you kind of just have to walk directly east to get to the stage. I'm going to Grant Park the day before to retrieve my wristband, and I'm going to walk around and plan out a route, because everything is set up, they just have workers around and they didn't mind me walking around haha I did that last year.

I didn't know I couldn't bring food in, I guess I have to bring my backpack again this year, I brought one last year and it was pretty funny... I wore it on my front during the shows so somebody couldn't steal from me or something haha.

I am definitely going to bring two water bottles, and try and sneak some food in. And for those of you saying I could just leave to go use the bathroom, I REALLY hope that's possible... last year I waited for Phoenix... I was literally squatting on the ground, about 10 people away from front row and it was impossible to even think about leaving! But that was only a couple hours before they went on so it might be different since I'll be there as soon as the gate opens. Hopefully I won't be squatting on like a 6-inch area this time... it was so freaking crowded D:

Anyway that's my plan... any thoughts/suggestions/advice on getting front row? I really want to make this right.

Thanks so much for the tips, much appreciated :)
