June 5, 201115 yr thanks for the lyrics guys. How are you so sure the title is Charlie Brown. It seems to me Chris only said Charlie Brown because it is a famous cartoon. The song is called Cartoon Heart.
June 5, 201115 yr thanks for the lyrics guys. How are you so sure the title is Charlie Brown. It seems to me Chris only said Charlie Brown because it is a famous cartoon. The song is called Cartoon Heart. It isn't called Cartoon Heart because Debs Wild said on this forum that it isn't called that. :) So it's called Charlie Brown. I like the title. I love the song.
June 5, 201115 yr thanks for the lyrics guys. How are you so sure the title is Charlie Brown. It seems to me Chris only said Charlie Brown because it is a famous cartoon. The song is called Cartoon Heart. The title went across the screen too. (though that's no guarantee every time)
June 5, 201115 yr The title went across the screen too. (though that's no guarantee every time) Yeah--I saw that they spelled Violet Hill wrong across the bottom, so I'm not going to rely too heavily on that. But, since Chris randomly shouted out Charlie Brown I'm just going to assume that's the alternate title or something.
June 5, 201115 yr and according to them it's: God put a smile in your face Soo. I think it's still Cartoon Heart.
June 6, 201115 yr "Lost Boys" - is he referring to PETER PAN? I think he may be. Especially taking into consideration that one of the lines in Major Minus "I hear those crocodiles ticking 'round the world" which references Captain Hook and his croc stalker (lol). I have no idea WHY the guys are referencing Peter Pan, though O_o

June 6, 201115 yr EDIT: I stole a key Took a car downtown where the lost boys meet I took a car downtown and took what they offered me To set me free I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene I saw the lights go down and they're standing in front of me Oooh My scarecrow dreams When they smashed my heart into smithereens I'll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete Be a cartoon heart Light a fire from a spark Light a fire, flame in my heart We'll run wild We'll be glowing in the dark Glowing in the dark Oooh ooh ooh Ah ah aahhh All the boys, all the girls All the madness/families in the world All the boys, all the girls All the madness that occurs(?) All the highs, all the lows As the room is spinning, oh We'll run wild We'll start glowing in the dark So we saw an innocent liar(?) We'll be glowing in the dark
June 6, 201115 yr I'm pretty confident this is 100% correct, what do you think? ;) I stole a key Took a car downtown where the lost boys meet I took a car downtown and took what they offered me To set me free I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene I saw the lights go down and they're standing in front of me Oooh My scarecrow dreams When they smashed my heart into smithereens I'll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete Be the cartoon heart Light a fire, oh light a spark Light a fire, a flame in my heart We'll run wild We'll be glowing in the dark Glowing in the dark Oooh ooh ooh Ah ah aahhh All the boys, all the girls All that matters in the world All the boys, all the girls All the madness that occurs All the highs, all the lows As the room is spinning, oh We'll run wild We'll start glowing in the dark So we saw the reason why, We'll be glowing in the dark
June 6, 201115 yr I think it's.. "All that matters in the world" I now agree :P ... thanks lol.
June 6, 201115 yr CHARLIE BROWN is such an awesome song. I love it !!! Thanks for sharing some lyrics as well
June 6, 201115 yr Author A couple things about the lyrics. First, for the first line, I hear "I stole the key." I think this makes more sense than "a," "the" implying that the narrator of the song (most likely a teenager) stole the keys to a specific car, probably his parents,' as opposed to some random key. Second, I am quite sure that instead of "when they smashed my heart into smithereens," I hear "when they smash my heart." This also makes more sense, because the future tense matches up with "I will be a bright red rose" in the next line. Next, I'm fairly sure that it's not "light a fire, light a spark. I hear something else ("find a spark?"), although I'm not sure what it is. Make your own deudctions here. Finally, I'm not totally sold on the "spinning room" and "innocent liar" lines, I feel they could be something else as well. Anyway, here's the lyrics as best as I can figure. Charlie Brown I stole the key I took the car downtown where the lost boys meet I took the car downtown and took what they offered me To set me free I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene I saw the lights go down and they’re standing in front of me My scarecrow dreams When they smash my heart into smithereens I’ll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete Be a cartoon heart Light a fire _____ spark Light a fire, a flame in my heart We’ll run wild We’ll be glowing in the dark All the boys, all the girls All that matters in the world All the boys, all the girls All the madness that occurs All the highs, all the lows As the room is spinning, oh (?) We’ll run wild We’ll start glowing in the dark So we saw an innocent liar (?) We’ll be glowing in the dark

June 6, 201115 yr Author Some really good lyrics in there. Certainly. This is the best I've heard from Coldplay since...quite awhile.
June 6, 201115 yr ^ Except for Cemeteries. That 'un had some good lines :wink3: Am I the only one who keeps replaying the part where Chris hits the falsetto at "All the highs, all the lo-oooows" ?
June 7, 201115 yr My favorite part is the "Light a fire, ___ a spark, light a fire, a flame in my heart"

Charlie Brown I stole a key And took the car downtown where the lost boys meet I took a car downtown and took what they offered me To set me free I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene I saw the lights go down and (I don't hear "they're)standing in front of me My scarecrow dreams When they smash my heart into smithereens I’ll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete Be a cartoon heart Light a fire from a spark Light a fire, a flame in my heart We’ll run wild We’ll be glowing in the dark All the boys, all the girls All that matters in the world All the boys, all the girls All the madness that occurs All the highs, all the lows As the room is spinning, oh (?) We’ll run wild We’ll start glowing in the dark So we saw an innocent liar (?) We’ll be glowing in the dark I underlined the slight changes I hear. Still not sold on the 'spinning' & 'innocent liar' lines. I don't think they are 100% but I can't make out exactly what he's saying. This darn song has been replaying in my head all day.
June 7, 201115 yr I love the whole "When the smashed my heart to smithereens, I'll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete" part. Whole song is unbelievably great.
