It isn't called Cartoon Heart because Debs Wild said on this forum that it isn't called that. :) So it's called Charlie Brown. I like the title. I love the song.

Yeah--I saw that they spelled Violet Hill wrong across the bottom, so I'm not going to rely too heavily on that. But, since Chris randomly shouted out Charlie Brown I'm just going to assume that's the alternate title or something.

I think this makes more sense than "a," "the" implying that the narrator of the song (most likely a teenager) stole the keys to a specific car, probably his parents,' as opposed to some random key. Second, I am quite sure that instead of "when they smashed my heart into smithereens," I hear "when they smash my heart." This also makes more sense, because the future tense matches up with "I will be a bright red rose" in the next line. Next, I'm fairly sure that it's not "light a fire, light a spark. I hear something else ("find a spark?"), although I'm not sure what it is. Make your own deudctions here. Finally, I'm not totally sold on the "spinning room" and "innocent liar" lines, I feel they could be something else as well. Anyway, here's the lyrics as best as I can figure.

I underlined the slight changes I hear. Still not sold on the 'spinning' & 'innocent liar' lines. I don't think they are 100% but I can't make out exactly what he's saying. This darn song has been replaying in my head all day.

I love the whole "When the smashed my heart to smithereens, I'll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete" part. Whole song is unbelievably great.
