July 14, 201114 yr So what is your guys favorite album opener and closer? And why? Mine are Opener: Politik. Probably the best Coldplay song, and it's just such an epic way to start such an epic cd, especially those first 5 songs! Closer: DAAHF. Also one of my favorite Coldplay songs, and that chant at the end is just such a breathtaking way to end an amazing album. Keep in mine for the purpose of this thread I'm not including hidden tracks.
July 14, 201114 yr opener: Square one, because of the spacey feel. closer: Death and all his friends because of the progression during the last part and the boys singing " no I don't want battle from beginning to end. I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge. I don't want to follow death and all of his friends!"
July 14, 201114 yr opener: Don't panic. Always gets to me. And when I put Parachutes on, it just sets the right mood. And the 2 acoustic guitars coming together is better than any intro. closer: Death and all his friends for sure. Slowly fades away after the chant explosion.
July 14, 201114 yr Opener: So difficult. I love "Square One", "Politik" and "Don't Panic"... but If I had to decide, I would choose "Politik" Closer: "Everything's Not Lost"
July 14, 201114 yr Author opener: politik closer : (I wish Twisted Logic was closer song..) Amsterdam Well technically it is the closer song. Til Kingdom come is a hidden track, technically. :smug:
August 7, 201114 yr Opener: Politik. Although I do love MX. Closer: Tempted to say Death and all His Friends, but will plump for Amsterdam.
August 7, 201114 yr Square One I know it's not a real closer (yet!) but i wish it was: Princess Of China opener: Don't panic.... And the 2 acoustic guitars coming together is better than any intro. it's actually an electric guitar joined by an acoustic ._.
August 7, 201114 yr Opener: Has to be Bigger Stronger (it opened the Safety EP!) Closer: Everything's Not Lost
August 7, 201114 yr I like both Life in Technicolor II and Politik as a opener. And somehow I think MTM could work as a closer. :surprised:
