LP5 World Tour 2011 / 2012 (rumoured European tour schedule pg.3)

Featured Replies

On the one hand, it seems weird to tour the same countries again in a few months. There were festivals this summer in a majority of those listed countries...

The Viva tour started right after the album was released, but there were not almost 30 gigs right before the release...

But on the other hand, why would anyone put so much effort to make a list of dates and venues if it wasn't true...

Oh well, we just have to wait and see.

It's settled then. Bull!

Aw, I remember listening to the Brixton Academy show on June 16th, two days after the album was released. During Viva Chris said: "I know you don't know this yet but try singing anyway". I want us to have a chance to learn all the new songs before we get to hear them live. I mean, it's great that we've gotten to hear a couple of new songs already but for most of the fans (not the hardcore ones that is - the hardcore ones check every song on youtube and learn them before it's played at "their" festival) it was like "wtf is this, this is not a song I recognise".

Of course you should believe Phil. After all he's in the band (well, more or less).

These are rumours started by a member of a fan forum, who in addition to this refuses to

say where he/she got the information. I'm calling bullshit, at least until I know where

the information originally descends.

Yes, no doubt about that, but still - as of now, they might just have finished the album. How in the world could he have known a lot about dates last year?

And even if so - the VLV Tour started June 15, 2008 - the album was released 6/11. So 5 days. Now, if the album really gets released on October 24th, as stated by several magazines, and the first concert would be mid-November - then that's more than 3 weeks. And I would call that "slightly longer". I'm not sure whether to believe in those dates. They seem pretty accurate. And why would anyone make up those very possible dates? But still, lerene doesn't make any effort to let us know where he got those dates from...

and nothing in UK/Ireland?it's a bit weird...

Took them 5 months to tour UK/Ireland with the VLV Tour. Looks likely it will be another bit of a wait. I can see them heading off to America after a first leg in Europe then coming back to do the UK and Ireland leg.

But maybe they will have an EP again released then upon which to play new material like they did with Prospekt's March?

These dates are fake. don't listen to any unofficial source!!

I have seen January 23rd in Barcelona. I don't really think that a Monday here to do a concert would be a good idea at all. So I really hope these dates are fake...

The dates don't seem unplausible for me. In 2008, they didn't always take straight routes either. I think the gap between the 2nd and 3rd show in 2012 will be filled, with more shows in Italy for example. A one week break after just 2 shows don't really make sense.

Think they're still working on the schedule.

Despite those rumours, I expect some tour announcements within the next 3 weeks.

Well if this turns out to be real, WTF?! I mean what's with the 308908374 dates in Germany?! And it's two dates in Spain and shitload of dates in France and stuff, but just one in Italy?! And I thought they didn't have enough gigs here...

Germany is the third biggest music market in the world. I guess Coldplay simply sell many CDs, downloads etc here, thus they book a lot of concerts.

Chart position doesn't matter these days, it's all about sales figures.

Plausible to me....

This is interesting: in the past few weeks Live Nation contacted various (semi-)professional photographers all over the globe to ask if they might use their concert photos for a new Coldplay tour book.

I have just realised that my post has stirred quite a lot of things up.

So, this is just to clarify that the tour dates are all absolutely UNCONFIRMED at the moment!!!

But it's also not a hoax.

Can't say more at the moment. We will have to wait a couple of weeks until the official announcement of the tour.

Probably, yeah. Let's wait until we hear something from coldplay.com

Plus germans still spend quite a lot of money on concert tickets (despite the tough economical situation), not only talking about Coldplay here but in general musicwise.

Many artists/bands have quite extended tours over here, it's not only Berlin, Hamburg, Munich but loads of other cities/venues as well.

So when a promoter gets its hands on a worldwide top-selling band, it's not really a risk, to book around 5 - 8 concerts in different locations.

I'm just curious to see how much these dates will stay like this if an official announcement will follow :)

Should be announced within the next two weeks, I guess as ticketssales should be at least 3 months in advance with advertising aso.

A good venue here in Italy for concerts is the Olimpic Palasport of Turin but I don't know if there are some dates that aren't scheduled for anything there

Then how come you can post these dates? Are you working for them? Where did you get the information?

If you "can't say more at the moment", you shouldn't have said anything at all.

This ruins the surprise, if there is such a thing.

Rare feeling, isn't it?!? :laugh3:

Thanks for that hahaha

When I saw Adam Ant last month I was pleased to find out he was 1 month older than me! He was still brilliant though :)

Oh no, hope it's not true.

I was hoping they won't come to Hungary/Austria/Czech Republic earlier than in Spring 2012.

(I'm having a baby in December, it will be a torture knowing they are so close and I can't go)

Congrats, Wisna!

Jason

Congrats, Wisna!

Jason

Thank you! :)

In the end, maybe I am crazy enough to go to Budapest in January. It's about 200 km.

My husband said he would manage with a 1-month old for a few hours. :D

Source?

Are those venues free or booked on the dates stipulated?

I checked the websites of the venues in France and there is nothing booked on the dates mentionned for the moment!

05.12.2011 Zenith Europe, Strasbourg, France

Nothing booked on that date

13.12.2011 Palais Omnisport de Paris Bercy, Paris, France

Nothing booked on that date

18.01.2012 Halle Tony Garnier, Lyon, France

Nothing booked on that date (click "Janvier" to see)

20.01.2012 Park&Suites Arena, Montpellier, France

Nothing booked on that date

I would be thrilled if they come to Strasbourg!

But let's not be happy too fast and wait for the official announcement!

I hope it's not true cos on the 19th December they have to play a charity gig in a tiny venue somewhere in the UK. It's tradition :snobby: :P

Ahahah DEFINITELY! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only 'older' Coldplayer on here :laugh3: Good to know.. I feel less 'ancient' now! LOL.
