lerene
According to the website http://www.infoconcert.com/news/cold...011--5450.html Coldplay will do a gig in Paris on December 13. From my experience from other announcements this information published here was ALWAYS correct. For example for the Viva La Vida tour, for U2, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers and George Michael gigs in France they always had the correct dates and venues. So I dare to say that December 13 is fixed. There is a gap in the programme at the Bercy, so the date seems to make sense. So we can expect annoucements of the dates and venues in Europe very soon. And I suppose it will be the "usual" arenas in Europe like: Palais Omnisport de Paris Bercy, Paris, France Lanxass Arena, Cologne, Germany O2 World, Hamburg, Germany O2 World, Berlin, Germany Ericsson Globe, Stockholm, Sweden Spektrum, Oslo, Norway Jyske Bank Boxe, Herning, Denmark Sportpaleis, Antwerpen, Belgium Ahoy, Rotterdam, Netherlands Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria Olympiahalle, Munich, Germany Hallenstadion, Zurich, Switzerland Mediolanum Forum, Milan, Italy Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain etc... This will be quite an exhaustive tour starting end of November / beginning of December 2011, therefore I supppose they will play more cities in countries like France, Germany, Italy etc as well as arena shows in other countries like Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Russia etc. After the European leg ends towards spring 2012 (around March) they will play arenas in the UK. After that they will play arenas in the US and Canada. They then will return to Europe for summer stadium shows. I suppose they won't play any festivals in 2012, only their own stadium shows. And then if all goes according to plan, the tour will continue until the end of 2012....
Donggyun Kang
Maybe it goes until 2013 for South America Leg? And also their is the Asia leg and the Australasia Leg
lerene
Everything seems possible afterwards. Looking at their previous tours it would make sense to contunue well into 2013.
xmonstermaggie
Of course this all makes sense and is very exciting, but it's not fair that Europe would come first after they just did an extensive festival tour there! COME TO THE US PLEASE. Hahaha. (But, this is just me being bitter about not being able to see them for so long.)

lerene
Well. If I'm not mistaken the current leg of the tour includes festival dates in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America as well as Africa... not? This is covering all continents (excluding Antarctica...) on a short tour, which is quite impressive. So once the album is out and the actual LP5 - tour kicks off, it has to start somewhere. And I'm almost 100% sure that the tour will kick off in Europe! PS: I could also complain about the current tour as no Swiss date has been scheduled... :-( So I will HAVE to wait to see them until November or December this year. Fairycat101
Does this mean that the South African shows are technically the kick-off? As we are the only dates so far that are not festival shows...
lerene
I guess they're not really the kick off for the actual tour. I suppose they could be considered as the end of the "outdoor"-tour. As there are not really any festivals in South Africa they're playing these shows there. I think the tour will kick off in some major European arena. Megalomania
would you say stadium or arena tour for the US? i think they're big enough to do a stadium tour here but it all depends on whether or not they think they are. . .
lerene
I'm expecting an arena tour in the US. At least on the first leg of the US tour. However, I suppose when the album and the first part of the tour will be a huge success we could expect stadium shows throughout the world. 2011 November - December Arena Tour Europe 2012 January - March Arena Tour Europe / UK 2012 March - May Arena Tour North America 2012 June - August Stadium Tour Europe (incl UK) 2012 August - September Outdoor shows North America 2012 October - December Arena and stadium shows in Latin America, Australia and Asia

leahg
next spring- summer seems so far away for them to come to Canada!!!!! Seems unfair the LP5 tour would start in Europe where they have been performing all summer
Tryptophan
Since when do Coldplay do stadium tours? Where did you get this information, or is this just speculation? I don't want them to go all U2... :inquisitive:
