^ I'd say they could definitely still be recording, I don't see why they wouldn't record in LA, after all. But this is quite exciting, to read a few "Coldplay are coming!" here and there from time to time!

Oh finally some good and exciting news on LP6 side!!!

Thinking about it, in Coldplay/record label language, "soon" usually means like 6 months haha

After 6 months we will get 30secs sample of lp6..... *sigh*be patient*

Waiting is killing me. Every day I think about new album - will it be great? or maybe it's gonna be the second Rush of Blood? or maybe boys will found new direction again? or will it has theme? or maybe I will hear Jonny singing???

A confirmation of a 2014 release of the sixth album is enough for me :)

I've been waiting for them to make a rock album. With a lot of loud crunchy guitars and loud drums. I really liked during the Viva era how they were messing around with different time signatures, especially on Will's drumming. I've always thought that they have it in them to make an album like that. If you look at a lot of their live performances, they really have a lot of crunch to them. The early performances of Hurts Like Heaven during the festival runs are some of my favorite. The album version is a bit less rockier than it is live. Jonny's guitar is loud and crunchy! God Put A Smile On Your Face is crazy live! The guitar solo at the end!!

 

While I loved Mylo Xyloto a lot, it was by far their poppiest album. I know Chris seems to be heavily influenced by pop artist these days. Jonny seems to be stepping his game up a bit and I feel like they should just unleash him! Im just afraid we'll get an album full of pop songs again. I hope they do songs more along the lines of Glass Of Water, Hurts Like Heaven(live),The middle section of 42, Death And All His Friends, etc. Something along those lines.

 

Oh and they seemed to have steered away from the ballad. I've always thought they wrote amazing ballads. I think another classic ballad surely won't hurt. Im nervous and excited to see what LP6 brings though!

Hook driven? MX is for me the least memorable album they have made......overproduced, layer upon layer of guff would be a better description me thinks. I want an album I can enjoy and return to again and again unlike MX.

 

I still can't believe they left MTM off the album!!!!!???

 

Saying that Atlas doesn't give me much hope :(

I'm not really convinced... So far they posted Talk, Shiver and LIT ii + Don't panic on the website (did I forget anything?) and I just don't see what they could be meaning. It might be Anchorman being a bit bored and trying to keep us happy. I don't know what to think
