I TOTALLY agree with you on the Rihanna part. That's why I'm really like ''WTF''. Why did they pick Rihanna?! So random, does not match Coldplay at all. I'm scared they will change, do some pop music that will be on the radio all the time, and people will go like ''OMG I LOVE COLDPLAY MY FAVOURITE SONG BY THEM IS POC'' and they never heard Parachutes or AROBTTH... :inquisitive:

Come to think of it, Rihanna &Co. don't really have fans. They produce music only to grab as much money as they can, with songs conveying no actual meaning but rather promoting money, booze, sluts and all sort of meaningless crap that make my stomach turn when I hear it mentioned in the lyrics. The music of that sort grabs attention for a couple of weeks and afterwards it's all completely forgotten about. It's disgusting and despise-worthy.

GaGa is putting most of her own private money she earns into her shows and rihanna released 6 record and 1 re-release in 6 years cause she loves to make music. And just to say: pop music is not always meaningless and trash! especially THIS new coldplay record is in my opinion more mainstream then ever

I don't know what Chris is trying to achieve and why he finds the above mentioned kind of music so alluring. I was reading Rolling Stone's reviews of Parachutes and AROBTTH, there were some fantastic things said about them and I thought: 'Chris,does that mean nothing to you?'. I am assured that the band would get attention and acknowledgement they want without trying so hard to achieve that, but by just being spontaneous and making the kind of quality music they used to make back in the early 2000's, when this weird influence was nowhere on horizon.

 

 

Well (and I know this has been said before) the guys have always said that they don't want to make the same record twice.

 

Although I do wish that, instead of making their horizons too broad and encompassing pop and hip-hop, that they would blend together some of the elements that they already had. If they mixed together their influences from Parachutes thru Viva to make one album, I think they could really hit on something great.
