Chris Martin: Mylo Xyloto is based on a love story

Featured Replies

SO, despite not being seen together in yonks, it appears Chris Martin is still all loved up with Gwyneth Paltrow.

The rocker, 34, has revealed the inspiration behind Coldplay’s new album Mylo Xyloto is luuuurve. He said: “It’s based on a love story with a happy ending.”

But it’s not all harmony for the lads. Guitarist Jonny Buckland, 33, hints at disagreements while they were trying to get an album that is “as good as we’ve ever been, at least”.

He tells Billboard: “We’re brutal with ideas. The rest of the band want 10 songs, Chris wants 13.” Steady on, chaps.

I think they'll meet (almost) halfway and do 11 songs. I'm glad to hear they're still doing an album based on a story, I've always been a fan of concept albums.

Thanks for posting the article :)

And I couldn't care less about George Michael and your thread, aargh!

Coldplay still amaze me. They're doing a concept album, with a story, and they've only just decided the tracklisting!?

Interesting. I sure hope Chris wins out and gets 13 tracks to us. Shame on you Johnny, Will, and Guy for only wanting to give us 10 out of the many that you've written. :P

Chris, I thought you had learnt from X&Y... bloated is bad.

This. When it comes to albums, less is more.

I'd be happy with 10-11 songs but I'd expect an EP!

I don't think they'll go down the EP route this time. if they have any extra songs to release I think they'll release them as b-sides like they did during X&Y and AROBTTH.

These people don't know what to make up in order to sell newspapers/magazines.

I have several images in my head by reading this sentence and they're all rather unpleasant..

Shorter is better, but not when we've already heard 6 songs from the album. It'll be 7 when Paradise comes out.

Avril Lavigne was riding down to the forest with her bycicle when she suddenly hits something, she sees a poor little skunk in the middle of the road and being squished by one of her tires. Chris the skunk sees her and gets really mad, but since he's Chris Martin and he's all nice a noble and gives money to charity and shit, he said "I am deciding not to spray you with my skunk urine"

Chris not sprayed Avril okay :phu:

Avril has been lost in the forest would have to find the house :dozey:
