Chris apparently wants 13 songs

The rest of the band wants 10 songs

 

Here's my theory though:

How do we know the other 3 songs arent the other studio songs?

I dont if that's even accurate but id rather just have brand new studio songs

i remember them saying in interviews that they have FINISHED 13 songs, so that's the max, but they still had to figure out which ones will be on the lp.

Plastic Beach is 16 tracks.

The Suburbs is also 16 tracks.

MBDTF is only 13, but does have a running time of nearly 70 minutes.

 

As much as I agree short albums are good, long ones can be too if they're consistent.

I think will be 10 tracks and three of them will be hidden tracks

I think the long album vs. short album debate has more to do with total running time vs. number of tracks, when it comes down to it. Albums over 45 minutes, no matter how good, just feel long to me. As long as they're still good and consistent, of course that doesn't affect how much I love them (some of my favorites are 50 minutes plus), but when you're listening to them all the way through, it's definitely more of a commitment, and can feel more like a marathon.

The only downfall if this turns out to be the Mylo Xyloto tracklisting weve heard a good chunk of the album already!!

Iv said this before and I know it wont happen but id pre-fare if Coldplay didnt include ETIAW and Major Minus two great songs but we have them on an EP.It would of been nice to see another two new titles on the tracklisting replacing these.Maybe titles such as Luminous,CarKids,Rex or AlienRadio if any of these exist,or even if they tweaked with Major Minus to become MajorMinusMedia!!

I don't think ETIAW should be on it, but I'm fine with MM. Not because I hate ETIAW (I don't, just not a huge fan), but I just don't think it fits in with the rest of the songs we've heard.

Viva la Vida had one too many secret tracks. Reign of Love was needless, in fact I've taken it out of my VLV/PM master playlist and just replaced Lovers in Japan with the Osaka Sun Remix.

 

13 tracks please Coldplay. Have the MX live intro has an intro track, then the rest can be 12 songs. I wouldn't mind the odd secret track, but I'm calling there should only be two of them this time around at the most.

Reign of Love was pretty good though..

If ANY song was useless on VLV, it's Chinese Sleep Chant, especially being tacked onto Yes, which is an excellent song.

I don't mind having secret tracks, as long as they aren't filler like CSC was.

"Chinese Sleep Chant" was amazing espacially the Guitar solo from Johnny.
