October 11, 201114 yr I think it's U2 based on their longevity (or repetitiveness..) but possibly Coldplay in terms of their sound at times.
October 11, 201114 yr Author Radiohead? yeah, maybe some people think that they are mainstream.
October 11, 201114 yr I think it's U2 based on their longevity (or repetitiveness..) but possibly Coldplay in terms of their sound at times. This sums it all. Voted for U2, although I think that my opinion will change once MX is released. Especially considering the Rihanna collaboration.
October 11, 201114 yr Author This sums it all. Voted for U2, although I think that my opinion will change once MX is released. Especially considering the Rihanna collaboration. When they collaborated with Jay-Z i knew enough already.
October 11, 201114 yr Author radiohead and mainstream in the same sentence...hmm,not. :D Yeah i know, but in the Poll i place 4 of (what i think) the best known big bands in the world.
October 11, 201114 yr I dont listen to the other three bands, apart from a bit of Muse, so it would be unfair for me to comment!
October 11, 201114 yr Author Where is the opcion 'I don't care'? that's the "Shut the computer down button"
October 11, 201114 yr They're all mainstream, but as of now, Coldplay are the most mainstream band on the list, closely followed by Muse. Especially since a couple of Muse songs were on the Twilight soundtrack.
October 11, 201114 yr If you're talking about at the current moment, then Coldplay. But overall, who has been the most mainstream at their peak mainstream(ness)? U2 by far.
October 11, 201114 yr As of right now, I'd say: Coldplay U2 Muse Radiohead Based on the very little i've heard of the other three, i'd agree with this one! ;)
October 11, 201114 yr The poll is intresting . Is it really though? Aren't the poll results reflecting what you would expect?
October 11, 201114 yr The only real battle here is between Coldplay and U2, and I'm giving the nod to U2 since they've established themselves as a household name for over 30 years. Coldplay is almost a household name now too, but you don't have as many old people at their concerts yet. Muse has had a big struggle trying to break into the mainstream outside Europe, and while they're finally succeeding, you still have to dig for stations that actually play them. Radiohead is out of the question. Many people still haven't heard anything besides Creep.
October 11, 201114 yr I don't think that's important but yeah, it's coldplay. Have you seen their marketing decisions? @Michael: RH is more mainstream than radiohead I think. At least here.
