Who else misses the old Coldplay? =/

:rolleyes2:

It's just that I think the "new" one is focused in pop music, and worried about getting more fans =/

Each album has a theme(excluding first 2). They will play pop for the next few years then move on. Just like X&Y, Viva.

idk i miss when i used to like them a lot

Sorry, nope, not me. When I am in the mood for old Coldplay, I play those records. When I feel like listening to new Coldplay, I play those records. Through the years, there have been lots of bands I adored, who "progressed" and I lost interest. So far that hasn't happened with Coldplay. Not saying it never will, but it hasn't yet.

me too

I just don't feel the same about them

I do miss the old Coldplay, but the most important thing is that I love the new Coldplay just as much!

Old COLDPLAY? They're the same COLDPLAY. Just with a new sound. How did you feel when Viba came out? After the 'trilogy'? I love them to death. New or old, they're the same band that I love.

me too... I mean, that started with this era. Just don't feel the need to listen to the new album, I am sorry that this is the case... :(

There's no way to miss the "Old Coldplay" because they are old now. U see, people are born new, then they get older and older as the time passes. Hope it helps.

Haha, I dont know no Viba!

I don't see it as old Coldplay and new Coldplay. They're still awesome Coldplay either way.

This is going on my signature!!! this made me laugh so hard!

As I see it they are the same Coldplay. They are the same four men that started a band 12 years ago, none of the members has split. They are just a process, an evolution. I think that Mylo Xyloto had to be released sooner or later. Why? Because they do the music that they feel to do in every moment of their career. So... when they release LP6 maybe part of us will say: hey, we miss the "old" Coldplay, again. Including Mylo Xyloto. Or maybe we will say: hey, we are waiting for LP7 because we don't like this new album or is not what we expected, we waited so many time for this! Oh god. They are just a shifting band, like all us along our lives.

I do miss it, but like how you'd miss your childhood sometimes

This. I do like Mylo Xyloto but I feel that the best memories come from the other albums and that includes Viva. For me there is a song on every album before MX that I can feel connected to whereas on MX the only song that comes close is Us Against The World and that's only near the end of the song.

I think Coldplay, mainly Chris are too paranoid of what the public think especially after the things that happened during the Viva era and this has majorly effected the new album. In my opinion and others that I know too, think that they've aimed this album at the people who follow the top 40 kinds of artists to try and shake off the bad vibe people have towards them.

Maybe in the future Coldplay will do something similar to what made them famous who knows but to be honest I doubt it.

Every band changes (either for the worst or best). And since Mylo Xyloto sounds nothing like Viva

La Vida, I bet LP6 will be different again. Thats if they will release a 6th album which I hope they do.

I too am I Mylo Xyloto fan. In my opinion, they did a successful job of experimentation, unlike the band Bloc Party, when they switched genres, I hated there new music, remember this is just my opinion, everyone is entitled in there own opinion.

Did you mean to change accounts? :P

Of course they will release another album or three. It's Coldplay; I don't see them stopping anytime soon.
