Coldplay previously topped the UK singles chart with Viva La Vida

Coldplay have scored their second UK number one single after Paradise climbed four places to top the chart in its 10th week of release.

Their previous UK chart-topper Viva La Vida - also their only US number one single - hit the top spot in June 2008.

Christmas number one Wherever You Are, by Military Wives and Gareth Malone, fell three to four.

Ed Sheeran's + climbed eight places to top the album chart while Michael Buble's Christmas fell from one to 15.

Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops and Hooligans climbed nine places to two, while Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto, at three, swapped places with Olly Murs' In Case You Didn't Know, at four.

And Lioness - Hidden Treasures, by the late Amy Winehouse, dropped three places to number five.

In the singles chart, Murs' Dance With Me Tonight climbed back up four places, to two, while US rapper Flo Rida's Good Feeling climbed four to three.

We Found Love, by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris, rose five places to number five.
