February 21, 201214 yr Coldplay open The Brit Awards 2012 with amazing performance of Charlie Brown (VIDEO) Coldplay were the opening act on tonight’s Brit Awards ceremony and it was a big arena worthy performance. The British rockers gave a live rendition of their hit song Charlie Brown, which was recently released as the third single from their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto. The boys had appeared in the red carpet just an hour before, all sporting matching symbols for the show. Tonight, Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion took to a podium stage in the middle of London’s O2 Arena and we had heard that audience members were warned beforehand about the amount of pyrotechnics that would be used during the song. They were right to prepare people, as the stage show and effects were magnificent, but we’re not sure we would have wanted to be in the front row! Coldplay have been doing the award ceremony circuit of late, having been nominated for three Grammy Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards which took place on 12 February 2012 in Los Angeles. They didn’t win any, however the band did put on an amazing duet with Rihanna on the night. Tonight, the boys have been nominated in Best british Album and Best Band categories. February 21, 201214 yr Coldplay Open BRIT Awards 2012 With 'Charlie Brown' Performance The 'Paradise' band kick off the BRITs 2012 with a performance of their latest single. Coldplay kickstarted the BRIT Awards 2012 tonight (21st February) at London's O2 Arena with a show-stopping performance of their hit single 'Charlie Brown'. 'Paradise' singer Chris Martin led the band through the song on stage at the arena while backed with an impressive pyrotechnic display from underneath a giant pink neon disco ball. The indie band received an impressive reception from the sold-out London arena audience, and performed while being lit up with fluorescent blacklighting. The 'Mylo Xyloto' band are nominated for two awards at tonight's BRITs 2012 ceremony in the categories for Best British Band and Album of the Year for their fifth record, which was released back in 2011. link
