August 22, 201213 yr The other one I can't stand is "Low". Wow is that one awful. You're a bad person
September 5, 201213 yr i love the song... i love the video... they are both great in their own ways :P
October 27, 201213 yr I love the contract between the sad lyric and the "carefree" (?) melody, it's like a man who lost his girlfriend and try to get out of his mind all the bad feelings and all his sadness
October 27, 201213 yr I like the song, and the video. Reminds me of 80s-90s alternative pop; R.E.M., The Cure, etc.
October 27, 201213 yr I like it, especially the version on LRLRL as mentioned by more people on this topic;)
October 28, 201213 yr X&Y was the album that introduced me to Coldplay, so I pretty much in some way or another enjoy every song on that album. I've always thought the lyrics were awful, but I thought the piano redeemed it. It just sounds good. I don't have a problem with the song. But up to that point, most of their songs had been pretty solid in music and lyrical content. So this song feels kind of half-assed and like it leads to a future of shitty filler songs for albums. I feel like an old person. I still dislike most of Viva la Vida and love most of X&Y while everyone else seems to feel the opposite.
November 19, 201213 yr THP I used to hate it, but I've grown appreciate it in the past couple months... Especially (like lots here) the LRLRL version. I have no words to describe the video- it's just... Coldplay. It's like the end of the "Talk" video, you're left asking "What did I just see?". :laugh3: I do think though there were songs on X & Y that could have been better singles than it...
November 19, 201213 yr I don't hate The Hardest Part, but it isn't my absolute favorite either. It isn't perfect, I guess.
November 20, 201213 yr I dont think people hate it, for me, its as good as any other coldplay song. the lrlrl version however is much better than the x&y recording
