Yeah, that's okay for me !! :D

Oh good. :) I did think maybe the cake club had lost a bit of momentum. This is an awesome concert and I love the interview. So looking forward to some nice reviews over the coming week.

Don't worry Kristal you can watch them, if and when you want to.

Can't wait for everyone's reviews, either. I think everyone's just been so busy lately with school and work and stuff, it's hard to get in and properly watch videos sometimes. Especially if they take a bit to download and such. But hey, that happens sometimes, it's okay :).

As for this show/documentary:

First off, the documentary:

1. Love that Anton Corbijn was involved with all of this. He's had notable work with another of my favorite bands (and many other great bands beyond that), so woo!

2. Hehehe, the Monty Python walks were beyond cute. Loved Jonny's in particular .

3. Chris sang a bit of Nick Cave's "Into My Arms". SIGH :dazzled:. Dear god, I LOVED that. I wish he'd done the full thing, I want to hear him sing the whole song now! I love that song so much, it's so beautiful, and hearing him do a bit of it was just...beyond lovely. Excellent songwriter choices from the band, too. Great musical influences there.

As for the concert:

It's official. "Lost!" is definitely one of my favorite songs live. That one, "Violet Hill" and "God Put A Smile..." just kicked all sorts of ass. I love seeing the band just rock out like crazy on stage like that. I also like the quote during "God Put A Smile..." about being influenced by artists like Muse-yay!

They also said during "Paradise" that Hype Williams was apparently the original choice for the video for that song? Now that would've been interesting to see if that's true. Also, that may well be one of the best performances of that song I've heard so far.

The crowd was excellent, too, they were really into it and the singalongs at various points gave me goosebumps.

Funny "Politik" screwup, and nice touch with the "Rehab" snippet before "Fix You"-giving a nod to the late Amy Winehouse made "Fix You" that much more emotional, very cool segue from that snippet into the song.

And Chris speaking Spanish is just beyond sexy.

Very entertaining show. Really loved it, as well as the documentary.

watching it this afternoon :D

Hi everyone, I'm back :D

Great idea for this week. That gig is the one that got me hooked :awesome:

I'll watch it sometime this week, maybe tomorrow night if I have time.

My own opinons

Firstly I was lucky that I was able to watch it 'with' two other Coldplayers.. we had a lovely time, all of us.

I can echo some of Angela's comments here.. The Politik screwup made me laugh the first time I saw it.. and every time thereafer.. he looks like such a naughty little boy at that point! LOL.

The Anton Corbin interview is probably one of the nicest I've seen.. and particularly nice that it was the whole band. Love the Fair Trade air bit.. LOL.. and the Monty Python walks are such a comic moment!

OK song highlights for me..

The Scientist..

Soo soo good.

Violet Hill, GPASUYF.. brilliant.. can't wait to see these done again live..!

Viva and Charlie Brown.. are they not the BEST ever live songs?

Kingdom Come.. I love that song!

Jonny's guitar.. sounded A M A Z I N G ! ! all the way through!

OK a bit of fangirling coming up.. (the above wasn't obviously! LOL)

Chris and Jonny's little dance... :D

Chris speaking Spanish! Ooh.. :P

Chris lying on the stage after Viva

'Give me Jonny on guitar, give me Guy on bass' During Politik..

Chris' short t-shirt! :p :wink3:

Clocks.. piano stool.. nuff said.. :wink3:

Chris POLE DANCING *sorry* :laugh3:

Then there is...

The elephant head on the stage at the end...

The FANTASTIC stage itself.. it looked amazing..

The original outing for the glowbands..

The whole thing.. I love that concert.

The entire show made even more incredible with the company of good friends.

Great comments :)

I agree with most of the things :D

My review now :D

So the documentary was really great.

I loved how the whole band was really involved in the interview.

I loved the graffiti thing and Chris writing "Anton" that was so cute, the overall graffiti part looked great.

And I was happy with their songwriter references too, I was glad Chris didn't mention Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga or Rihanna, to be honest.

And the Monty Python walk, haha. That was so cool, Chris can lift his legs soooo high ( :wink3: ), Guy was funny too and Jonny too. Will was very minimalistic but it was hilarious as well.

And I loved when they "performed" Charlie Brown in the circles. That was awesome. Chris: Will, aren't you playing???? Will: No, not yet !

And then everyone laughing out loud, that was great :laugh3:.

I really, really LOVED the interview.

WARNING FANGIRL MOMENT:

Chris playing the piano, looking so lost in the music, explaining the piano keys and colours, biting his lips. Oh dear, almost too much to bear !!! :o :dazzled: :sneaky:

And then, the gig.

I loved the countdown in different languages, that was cool :)

MX/HLH: So intense, and it such a cool beginning.

Yellow: Always beautiful, always.

In My Place: brilliant. and Buckin moments are always welcome :D

Major Minus: I love Chris' speeches, and yeah, the song is so great live.

Lost!: I must admit, it's not my favourite song, I love it though, but still.hmm. But live it convinces me every time :)

The Scientist: Emotional, emotional, love the sing along. So powerful.

Violet Hill: kicks ass...wow, love it.

GPASUYF: I love the recent version, the beginning when Chris is alone, and then when Chris, Jonny and Guy are in front of Will, hitting the drums, wow that's great.

Paradise: The live version is so much better ;) and the butterflies looked stunning, I still didn't find mine, but hey, never mind :D

Up In Flames: Oh god that song is also so emotional, it gives me goosebumps.

Til Kingdom Come: I was so surprised to hear it !!! I really love that song :D

But normally it's UATW after UIF, isn't it?

Politik: WOW. stunning, and the screwup yes, hahaha. When Chris rolls his eyes, it looks like he's thinking "has anyone noticed it" and then he laughs while singing and Guy has to laugh too  too funny :laugh3:

VLV: great !!! And the sing along WOW

Charlie Brown: breathtaking. I mean, it's just such a kick ass song. That one of the songs I'm always really looking forward to hear live.

LIFL: So happy that they've been playing that song at festivals and there. After all, it's an old Parachutes song, even a hidden track. And I'm glad that they play it so well live.

Clocks: Well, powerful, Clocks is just a song that'll always hold the audience's attention.

Fix You: Beautiful, emotional, WOW. And when Chris writes "MADRID" and a heart on the "I". Awwww

ETIAW: Cooooool I always want to dance when I hear that song. Great how Will is playing the guitar behind the drums :D

WARNING FANGIRL MOMENT:

-Chris speaking Spanish. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

-Chris close-ups

-Chris playing the piano

-The moment when Chris opens his blue eyes

-Clocks-piano-stool-Chris (now make a sentence LOL)

-Chris lying on the floor after Viva and when he smiles.... :bomb:

-Chris jumping during ETIAW (short pink t-shirt :drunk: )

-everthing Chris-related

So yes, it's all about Chris

And Guy, sometimes he stands there, and it seems that his role is really LOOKING HANDSOME hahahahahaha

Also about Guy when at the end he looks up at all those fireworks, he seems a little bit scared, "hmmm is that really working well, or will everything explode"

Will, when he sits at the piano during Til Kingdom Come, he looks at a roadie I think and points at the mic and winks LOL

And I loved when Jonny looked at Chris playing the piano (can't remember what song, maybe LIFL)

And I loved the Jonny captions too

So now I'm finished.

Overall comment: I really enjoyed the interview and the gig.

I wanna type SO MUCH about this video, but I can't get it all out properly.

I think we just can conclude that Mr. Martin looks drop dead sexy in the pre-show interview, and that his little (excuse me for the language) fuck-up during Politik was SO CUTE :)

The show is amazing. I've seen it 4 times now, and every time I see it I still intensely enjoy watching it

Chris can lift his legs soooo high ( :wink3: )

Oh, hey, you noticed that, too, huh ?

I must agree with the other fangirl commentary, particularly the pole dance (in the midst of a song like "Fix You", he had to go and do that-lightened the mood a bit right there :p) and the, uh, "Clocks" performance. Mmmhm.

I also agree that it was great to get the whole band together for an interview. Their close bond is so apparent all these years later and I think that's just wonderful .

Mara that was an AWESOME review! thank you! I didn't see Chris write Anton ? I must rewatch it! Just for that OBVIOUSLY.. ;) (believe that and you'll believe anything! LOL)...

I know how you feel Ellen, it's a very emotional concert.. don't worry, you managed to imply all of what we felt in just that sentence.

I didn't ever see my butterflies either.. Or Oli's.. we did about 10 each! LOL..

Hey girls, it's been suggested that next weekend's video should be Glastonbury 2005.

I can upload the video if anybody needs it.

I'll check the MM section first though in case it's already there. :) I'll post links etc here later on.

Oh Mara... I'm not LOL.. But thank you.

As you know.. some of us.. who will have to remain nameless to protect the innocent (yeah right ) have cheated and already watched this!

They know who they are however and WILL be expected to submit a FULL review before the end of next week..

I know that this could be slightly difficult for a certain nameless person, who was drinking some sort of fruity concoction I believe whilst watching...

This is NO excuse and any late homework from this particular group will be severely punished! :whip: ;)
