I really have this feeling that LP6 will come sooner than we might expect, they have so much unreleased material from MX(because it didn't fit in the concept) I think they're gonna use it one way or the other in LP6.

There was a lot of unreleased material from Viva but that didn't make MX come any sooner.

Yeah I doubt anything will be recycled for the next album. I think the chance of an EP has passed now as well. It will be all change next time around I'm sure!

I think 2013 will be an extremly quiet coldplay year. Very few if any interviews. Im not sure where i heard it but i think i heard this year was to spend more time with their familys.

 

Have to suck it up and be patiant, and re-watch the old interviews again.

the comics though....though I don't really care about them

Hopefully LP6 will be released(or first single) spring/summer 2014.

Given that's the time it took between each of the albums(except Parachutes - AROBTTH)

2002 - August 26h release AROBTTH

2005 - June 6th release X&Y

2008 - June 12th release VLVODAAHF

2011 - June 3rd release ETIAW(and sort of started to promote the album during festivals)

 

2014 - June/September LP6 release? (But it still seems such a loooong way to go, 2013 only just kicked off...)

I expect this to be a very quiet year. Since they've had to cancel the LA tour, I don't think we will see any live performances from them this year (at least not in the first half of it), and maybe it's not even the worst thing..Chris himself has said many times that bands have to go away for some time so they won't overdo it.

 

As for regarding the album, Will said in the latest interview that they're starting basically from scratch and that they're not REALLY working yet, more like playing, jamming with no pressure re the new songs. Basically I remember Roadie #42 saying in the middle of 2010 that the record already had its 'skin and bones' but then it took more than a year to release it!

 

In my view, we will get a new Coldplay album in 2014 if they don't break the one album-per-three-years tradition. But this time it really could be we'll have to wait a bit longer, up to 2015.

 

Debs is probably right when she says it's going to be a long time before anything new is announced.

 

But we'll wait. ;)

The wait is always worth it with Coldplay

We're all desperate for LP6 but I can't see anything being released this year, next year maybe so. So we'll all just have to look forward to then I suppose :/.

 

Will said in an interview with the BBC last week that him and Jonny were back in the studio on January 17th 2013 to start getting some ideas together, so that's a start :D.

I think that at the moment they are going to studio just for fun, IMO it's to early for start working on LP6.

Chris told a reporter in November that they already had begun working on LP6 so I think they have passed the stage of fooling around.
