Nie
Yeah I could leave for a bit but the biggest problem is the heat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Aren't there sprinklers after the entrance? We have to get in at 13:00 and leave food and drinks and stuff behind. [emoji53] I have a small umbrella to hide from the sun. Can't take it in so if you would like it, come over and you can have it. Coz i have that ticket tomorrow. I thought we were getting our ticket and wristband from 13:00 and then go to queue for early entrance at the stadion and get in around 16:00. Can you posted how it all works later? Would be nice to have more info for tomorrow.

TheSavage_
Amazing photo! I planned to arrive at 5pm, we left a bit too late but would have been OK. As we set off: check engine light! Dropped by service/dealership to have it checked quickly. Turned out alright but set off an hour later. Then tons of traffic jams around Antwerp. All in all were in the stadium at 20:25. I'd say about 50 meters from catwalk and main stage. But man did I have a blast again! Felt like there were way way more balloons for AOAL than there were last year in Amsterdam and it was amazing! timyyy
So here my little story of yesterday. We went to the stadium at 3pm so we had to wait for 2 hours in the bloody hot sun. Lucky enough there was water available so that made it doable. My plan was to get a good spot at the B-Stage and the place we could take was exactly the place i wanted. We had a good view of the whole stage and the screens, and offcourse a perfect view on the B-Stage. The show itself was amazing and we saw the guys from so close, the waiting was all worth it for sure. And from my hearings, the crowd did a realy good job too. When they came to the B-stage, Chris asked a cell phone near to us. The woman who stood three places further didn't want to give are smartphone away, but the roadie took it almost out of her hands. (You can see in my video that i almost wanted to give my phone :)) In front of me, there was a guy who was taking pictures close to the B-stage and he edited the pictures on his smartphone. He also filmed the clip of "Formidable" that he placed on their facebook page. So it was an amazing night! One of the best Coldplay gig i attended. I'm now feeling a bit guilty because i'm not in the stadium in my own country... But maybe i'm nog alone with that feeling. See them one more time in Paris in three weeks!
Liezeke
The concert was superb. The fact that it started with my favourite aria by Puccini immediately made my evening. What followed was pure magic. The concert has far outstripped every expectation.

Jay R
What a magical night it was! This was the second time I went to Coldplay, the first time was in the Amsterdam ArenA where I had a seat on the side, on the second to last row. This time I bought tickets for the floor and I wanted to be early so that I had a good spot. It worked! I used public transport to travel from Zoetermeer (close to The Hague) to Brussels with a friend. When we were waiting for the international train in Rotterdam, a random woman approached us and said she was heading to Coldplay too (me and my friend were wearing our Coldplay-shirts). We had a great conversation waiting for the train and in the train, it's funny how Coldplay connects people. After we arrived at the stadium, when we were walking towards the entrance, a interviewer from the Belgian Radio 2 noticed our Dutch accents and asked if he could interview us, asking questions about the terrorist attack on Tuesday. After the interview we walked to the entrance, through the security checks and entered the queue at around 15:30. It was very warm and sweaty and when they finally opened the doors at five o'clock, we were able to get spots at 5 metres from the catwalk. 5 metres! That's an enormous upgrade compared to second to last row. The concert itself was amazing. We sang everything and at the end I almost had no voice left. It really was one of the best moments of my life, to see them this close. The only downside is that Chris was regularly speaking French, which I could not understand (never learned French), I won't blame him, Belgium is 50% French after all. :p Btw, I read somewhere that they had more camera's than usual. Does anyone know if they were filming for the Live 2017 movie? I hope so... :D
Captain Crieff
Okay here's my lengthy review and some photos! """""Cold"""""play. A couple of firsts: first (and hopefully not the last) time I was able to go to a Coldplay concert without having to travel to another country, the first (and hopefully the last) time I spent 8 hours in the blazing sun when it's 33°C, and the first (and probably the last) time I attended a concert that was also attended by members of the Belgian royal family. Queueueueing, melting, baking, and an interview debut The day started, as it often does in June, with an exam. I never handed an exam in so fast. The things I do for the band. *jingle* weather update: it's hot. It's very hot. 30°C and it's not even noon yet. I arrived at the stadium around 11:30 and saw trees, misters and toilets so I was happy, until I realised I was at the wrong queue. In the right queue, things were a little different. Everyone was still on the pavement. Blazing sun, no trees, no misters and no toilets. Excellent. I had no choice though so I planted my arse and the wait commenced. About 15 minutes later, a journalist working for the national TV news arrived to interview some diehard fans. Hmm. I politely declined but was interviewed for a local media website a bit later. Clearly an intern, the guy started with asking me the question "why are you here?" My brain was too fried to throw a sarcastic reply back so I just confusedly said "..eh to see Coldplay". That bit didn't make the cut. What did was my "message to Chris Martin": "Please come spray some water on us because it's hot." Truly my biggest wish at that moment. At around 2pm they decided to move us past the security checks and somehow, I have no idea how, I ended up all the way at the front in the next queue. *jingle* weather update: it's even hotter now. 33°C and still no clouds. Now, the funny people at Live Nation had set up two waiting zones. Both had no shade but one of them had misters. The other one only a tap. Guess which one they decided to use. Meanwhile the floor was actually lava and then they asked us to sit down. They can talk, they were nicely chilling in the stage. About an hour before the doors were supposed to open I was starting to feel a bit poorly because of the heat, even though I was at the front of the queue and it was probably worse for the people who had no space to breathe. I managed not to fall in the apples like my French-speaking compatriotes say and was ready for the Hunger Games moment aka securing a good spot in the stadium. Tickets had already been scanned so there was no faulty-scanner stress. The gates were opened, the "NO RUNNING!!" mantra was cried, and as always, completely ignored. Shout out to the man who was clearly not part of the security and yelled "RUUUUUUN!!" instead. Despite there being no stairs to climb like in Amsterdam last year, this front row run was at least as exhausting. Thanks heat wave. Made it to the B stage though. A bit later I lured my friend who was in the other queue to the B stage. The B stage is the place to be. Inside the stadium too, the floor was lava. I sweated through the support acts (literally for Lyves, literally and figuratively for AlunaGeorge) and then the sun was finally gone. The heat wasn't though, but the security guys were handing out water so it was fine. I was still kind of wondering what the hell I was doing though, I had risked fucking up my exam by handing in too early, spent an entire day in the sun when it was 33°C, hadn't eaten since 1pm (who on earth wants to eat chips or bratwursten when it's that hot?), all for a concert? Hotplay There was a lot of tension and excitement before Coldplay came on. Whenever a few people started screaming or clapping, about half of the stadium joined them thinking the band was there. An indication that the crowd hadn't melted completely. My "wtf am I doing"-feeling vanished 20 seconds into A Head Full Of Dreams when I saw a bunch of happy, smiley people on the screams and heard and saw the entire stadium (er well I couldn’t see the tribunes) singing along. There were so many smiles, so much happiness. The band were all smiles throughout the whole show! A lot of Chris and Jonny interaction too, for the fans. Well done to Chris for greeting the audience in all 3 official languages! Beside English he mostly spoke French and god his French is so cute I want to give it a little hug. Shame it's intangible. During the first couple of songs I also got a bit emotional for some reason. It was probably me realising this was the last time I'd see them for a while *melancholic tune*. Anyway, back to the positive stuff because this is Coldplay after all. The crowd! What happens when Coldplay don't play in Belgium for almost 6 years? The crowd goes fucking Latin (you know, like Italian, Spanish or Latin American crowds). A video of Charlie Brown or.. any song really can prove that statement. Brilliant. Speaking of brilliance: the Paradise remix took me by surprise again. I always somehow forget it's a thing. Mother of Remixes. B-stage time then. Chris took a fan's phone again and started filming the crowd around him, but briefly paused and focused on my friend's sign that said "JONNY BUCKLAND IS GORGEOUS", all with a big smile on his face. It's a very factual sing, isn't it? Jonny is certainly gorgeous. During Magic Chris briefly forgot that when he sings, he has to stay near his mic; that was funny. Apparently they also still think playing Princess Of China is a good idea. It isn't. It doesn't make sense to plat it when Rihanna isn't there and this isn't the MX-tour. Everglow however is a good idea, for three reasons: 1) it creates an intimate moment in a huge stadium. I don't know other bands that can do that. An arena maybe, but this is even bigger. Coldplay nail it. 2) it's a beautiful song, though the "when I'm cold"-line sounded ridiculous considering we were all sweating like horses. 3) Chris' message about sending love to the world, Syria, Manchester, Brussels itself etc. is so genuine and real. It's impossible not to believe him. That doesn't only count for that message, pretty much everything he does and says comes across as very genuine. That's some excellent frontman skills. The only exception is when he goes "this is truly the best show we've ever played & you're the best crowd ever!!" He says that every day, how will we ever know when they're actually playing their best show ever? Tssss. Back to the A-stage. I already mentioned Charlie Brown was a great Crowd Goes Latin moment. Would also like to add Hymn For The Weekend is a fucking tune. At the end of the song Chris was visibly exhausted because of the heat, the poor man. I had the best time playing with the balloons during Adventure Of A Lifetime. Didn't manage to touch any in Amsterdam but in Brussels I was more lucky. Woops I skipped Viva, that song is always a highlight to be honest, for obvious reasons. On the C-stage we got In My Place (surprise!), Don't Panic (Will singing!!) and then… no request, but Chris announcing he was going to play one of his favourite songs in his cute French. He pulled a loop out of his guitar and sang Stromae's Formidable. If there was anyone in the stadium he hadn't won over yet, this surely did the trick. He did a great job too. He keeps going on about how merde his French is, but it's quite good for a Brit! Something Just Like This was… well it's true the live version isn't as terrible as the single version but I'm still not a fan. I decided to try and snap a cool pic of my Xyloband with the stage on the background but that completely failed unfortunately. A Sky Full of Stars can be summed up as a combination of loud singing and confetti-catching and Up & Up is a perfect set closer. It basically sums up what Coldplay is about and it's beautiful. Loved that sudden streamer rainbow at the end! The official Coldplay hype train Then it was time to head to the station to board the official Coldplay hype train. I know you're supposed to ride the hype train in anticipation of something, but the organisation had fixed extra trains to get all the Coldplay fans home, so that's an actual hype train okay. I was a bit afraid the queues for the metro were going to be super long but everything went smooth as fuck. Top organisation skills! Metro was hot though. In the train station the vending machines that contained cold (!!) drinks had a great night. I'd never been so happy with a can of apple juice. The hype train was delayed and wouldn't leave but it had A/C, unlike my bedroom so I didn't really mind. I think I got home at around 1:30am and while freshening up I found five (5) bits of confetti under my shirt. Absolutely wild \m/ photos:
