I'm a little late on this subject but I have a little more info on the Emma story. It was in one of the books I've read. After Emma approached him back stage he took her to the park and they played. He pushed her on the swings. They went back to her dorm room and he wouldn't take off his shoes because he said his feet were "toxic". He had a backpack with him and told her he carried an extra pair of shoes with him. They made out on the the bed but they didn't have sex as he was against premarital sex at the time. She said he even took off his shoes. Later on, it started to get around that Chris was in the building and started to get excited as they were looking for him. He got dressed put on his shoes and ducked out the window.

Next day she called Phil's house looking for Chris and he came to the phone and told her the whole shallow speech.
