Not sure how to feel about the theory of yet another album version or EP. It's been a chaotic release schedule but I can't deny enjoying the ride.

I still am hopeful for tracks like M.U.S.I.C, Opus No. 5, Earthling, 2 Aliens and more getting final releases at some point.

I like the production style for Moon Music overall so I'd love to hear more material from the era. Man in the Moon feels like it comes from the MOTS/ The Astronaut era, which I also enjoy.

It's giving Viva/Mylo era I feel so lucky because we did T get anything with MOTS

I suspect I'll forever have a bias with Moon Music. My heavily pregnant wife and I went to the cinema for the listening event, knowing it would be our final date together alone as a couple before we b

Did a quick mix of iAAM, with Chris and the piano from the acoustic version and G+J+W from the album mix. It feels more Viva-ish to me this way.  Coldplay - I am a Mountain (classicplay mix).

For those who are interested, I did an Indie Blasphemy mix of MOTS/MM (you may remember I did The Wedding Album on YouTube among other things before they were nuked by Warner, and the recent iAAM mix of course).

1. Infinity Sign (5.16)
- Used a slowed down version of MOTS1 (aka 🪐) as the intro. Slowed down the main song slightly, removed the "ole" chant but kept in the choir at the end.

2. Earthling (5.11)
- Slowed down the demo so Chris is singing at normal pitch, incorporated Alien Choir (aka ) as the outro.

3. Rainbow (7.52)
- extended the heavy bit of Neon Forest so it repeats twice, used the full version of Angelsong + minor mixing changes.

4. One World (4.57)
- removed Orange and the birdsong bits, made minor mixing changes.

5. All My Love (3.43)
- remixed it to sound more gentle and subtle.

6. Coloratura (13.45)
- used the Moon Music title track as an intro, thereby making it even proggier than it was before.

7. A Wave (3.20)
- extended it by using the intro from the demo version + minor mixing changes.

Total length: 44.02

I realized why I appreciate The Karate Kid so much... and it's all about lyrics. I'm still very happy with Moon Music, but I don't think anyone will disagree the lyrics are mostly pretty bad. The Karate Kid is reminiscent of his younger days when he could (and clearly still can!) write ballads that are relatively ambiguous in meaning. It's sweet, it's simple, and it carries depth. He's still got it, I just wish he'd deploy this skill more.

The title track has good lyrics, I love Jupiter lyrics and I love the lyrics in all of 🌈 and I love All My Loves lyrics (Chris's favourite song)

For those wondering about missing songs, I'm working on a Pop Spheres mix too. But I'm gonna hold off on posting it until we have Shine On (and hopefully 2 Aliens in good quality, if they ever release that, plus any other potential songs we might not know about yet)

Never heard of Opus No. 5. Can't find it on that site either. Can anyone who has it pm me?

Jupiter is easily my favorite track so far. I was pretty critical of the simple lyrics at first but I've really come around to them. It's such a good song.

The title track is actually the most personal song Chris has ever written

Re-listening to Alien Hits/Alien Radio, and you totally hear pieces of Man in the Moon at 2:30. Short snippets of the “ahhhs” and the whistle/guitar melody. Cool detailing, and pretty much confirms that pieces of all 7 songs from the notebook are you in there!

And is one of his best songs ever.

If there are more songs to be released for this album, they’re likely to be on this list. Can’t believe so many of these turned out to be real songs!

I think that we will have more unreleased new songs. The Full Moon edition is called Blue Moons. There will be the eclipse editions: Gloom Eclipse edition, Partial Eclipse edition and Total Eclipse edition. Also the Supermoon edition.

Based on the image below, did anyone already consider the tour version to be number three? (Sorry if posted before, have been away for a bit, don't really feel like catching up 30 / 40 pages worth of comments). The tour version does feature a somewhat correctly shaped crescent moon-esque figure on the right and is full of planets. (except the wrong way when looking at the emoji)

Only three are unreleased now. Aiko, Luna, and I guess MUSIC? (is that even a part of 🌈 anymore I can’t tell)

One of em has to be the real title of Shine On, right? It’s possible Karate Kid was renamed as well (it’s the only released MM era song not up there)

edit - Karate Kid is on the black box alongside 2 Aliens. How on earth did you spot that?

I think Shine On is the new Car Kids

In that we won't ever get it

Don’t worry. One day in the very distant future, someone will trick Admirice into sharing it.

Love the new songs (and this will surprise no one) but I lament the fact that EL didn’t get this treatment.

Flags is brilliant but it would’ve been incredible to get a release of the unused tracks like Wedding Bells, Famous Old Painters etc on an EP or even an extended edition like this. I’m sure Coldplay knows those songs are too good to go unreleased…right?

Also not excited at the thought of Max producing those songs instead. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Since I can't find a Man In the Moon sub thread, I guess this is the place to admire it. It's a throwback to Viva/PM, gated reverb drum, enough key changes to make Tony Banks jealous, and Chris is nailing the vocals. If there was concern about Coldplay running out of ideas as they near the end I think those concerns can be shelved.

I think they have plans for those songs they didn't discard them for good, Weirdo for example now is set to be on the musical so some of the rest can get released someday

Man in the Moon could have been the Humankind of Moon Music, decent track but not great the lyrics are okay which is rare on the main album tracklist

Interesting that Full Moon didn't come out as an EP...

To be honest look like a new method of industrial music to push up album in charts. The Tortured Poets Department from Taylor Swift have followed the same pattern with a deluxe version.

delete please

I'm personally obsessed with Man In The Moon. It's extremly catchy, love the build up to the chorus, great to sing along, I actually like the lyrics and most importantly there are no lalalas. I would replace it with Good Feelings in a heartbeat.
