April 16, 20251 yr Previously unheard song from before the Seoul show today. Looks like they might be ready to start soundchecking some new songs again. We don't really know anything about LP11 at this point but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes sooner rather than later given they still had plans until recently to release the final two albums before 2026. red_vid_1744814197.mp4
April 16, 20251 yr Sounds great! Chris has confirmed that LP11 will be a musical project. Not much is known yet, but I can imagine it taking the form of an animated movie, with tracks that have a similiar vibe to MOTS and Moon Music. As for LP12, it’s set to be their final album, rumoured to be a return to their roots. So this song could potentially be a contender for that. Or it might just be a one-off jam session!
April 16, 20251 yr LP11 is really gonna be make or break for me. I like Moon Music a lot, it's a relaxing pleasant listen, but it really hasn't aged that well. Not commercially or critically successful and while the tour is doing great, it seems fans are mostly there for the greatest hits at this point. If LP11 is just another Max Martin record with this kind of airy, minimalistic pop approach then I think they're really going to lose a lot of the fan base they established in the 2010's and the fact it's a musical feels all the more risky. One the one hand, if the music ends up being really good (maybe a few hit singles) and the musical is thoughtfully done, I could see some people saying "okay fine Coldplay has impressive longevity" and maybe in this cynical world people will like the charm of it. On the other hand, if it's bad lyrics, corny production, not catchy music, then I fear it will make them a really, really easy punching bag and maybe even the final nail in the coffin for folks who were holding on through the better parts of Moon Music.

April 18, 20251 yr I have a feeling that LP11 is Coldplay not the musical they said the musical will take some time
April 18, 20251 yr yea he mentioned that they might release the self-titled first then the musical because they don't know how long the musical would take (not confident that the storyline has been written yet either)

The American Idiot musical didn't happen until 5 years after the album came out for instance.

There is no way of proving when they’ve started working on the soundtrack.

That's weird, When I was playing Wii Party with Chris Martin and Apple and Moses, he mentioned that he actually hates We Pray and only put it on Moon Music because he lost a bet. Maybe he lost another one? Of course, there's no evidence that you actually had a pint with Phil, so you might be talking rubbish. Not sure though.

That's very odd, because Will told me via Skype the other day that the band are currently focusing on releasing a special EP that will have a bunch of unreleased songs from the last 6 years. And it'll be produced by a great friend who's going to mix Jonny's guitar on those songs very, very well, as Will emphasized to me. Edited May 3, 20251 yr by Gideon_Mx
