Hearing Lovers always does pick me up, though I only really watch the video when I have some odd urge to feel dizzy and make my head spin. I also find it to be the easiest Coldplay song to DANCE to.
  2. ^^ No worries; I've got my stalking gear ready! Binoculars, shady outfit, creepy mask, it's all prepared! :D It'll give me something to do when I'm stuck in jury duty all day. :\
  3. Oh, for crying out loud. Nursery rhymes are perhaps even more non-PC and negative (Jack & Jill, Humpty Dumpty, etc.), and they're probably next. Parents, your kids are gonna find out that life is full of tragedies the hard way, anyways. Save them some disappointment later in life. And Winnie the Pooh isn't a "happy" story. Heffalumps and Woozles are some seriously frightening shit.
  4. Didn't see this posted, but Rolling Stone's got some individual song details (may be a final track listing): http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/25328725/u2_break_down_no_line_on_the_horizon
  5. Bearing in mind that I ripped Parachutes from a friend... A Rush of Blood to the Head - $15 X & Y - $15 Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends - $10 (on sale at first release) Additional two copies of VLV for friends - $20 Viva La Vida Deluxe Edition - $15 Concert ticket - $100 Concert ticket for friend - $100 Overpriced merchandise at concert - $50 Poster on eBay - $20 All approximate values, of course, but that adds up to $345. Not cheap, but I've only been in the loop for a few years, so give me a few more years and we'll actually multiply that value by quite a bit.
  6. Ah, the horrible yet potentially hilarious magic of digital pitch alterations. The parts that got laughs out of me were the "Whoooaoohhhh"s in each of them. I can't explain why, but Politik strikes me as a song that would be gut-busting with "Chipmunk" voices.
  7. Just once - Honda Center in Anaheim. I could have gone to one of the Forum shows that opened the tour, but my family had a vacation pegged for that week. Grr... Fix You was great for the fact that it was one of the best sing-alongs. Viva La Vida was also excellent for the pure energy in the room (and Chris did a brief Killers cover in the middle). I'd also mention Lovers in Japan, but I didn't catch any butterflies.
  8. 10 Speed of Sound for me, too. I had been pretty exposed to the likes of Clocks and Yellow and In My Place beforehand, but SOS was the song that really encouraged me to give this band a serious glance, and I haven't looked back since. :D
  9. "Mr. Berryman, since I will never experience such a phenomenon myself, please tell me - what's it like to actually be attractive to the female species? Also, what do women feel like?" :dozey::wink3::dozey:
  10. I'm totally going to hell for laughing out loud at the erection one and getting an album out. Save for some cultures where you're assigned a marriage partner from birth. ;):P
  11. So four more to go, then? Famous Old Painters, Leftrightleftrightleft, The Dubliners, and Lukas left? Nonetheless, Will on vocals sounds great. I mean, Chris on DWNC sounds nice and all, but I need some Will in my actual library.
  12. Not official word per se, but eBay users are also our only source for the single's cover art, so here's hoping it's true.:)
  13. It took me over a half a year, but...I think I finally really like Strawberry Swing! Listened to it numerous times already today! :D Now I just have to make myself like Warning Sign more. :P
  14. Two more songs now made public. First up is "Say When", which was put up on the band's website last week but now I can't find it anymore. :\ Ah well, you can hear it on YouTube at least. Next is "Syndicate", which can be purchased exclusively at Amazon, but obviously can also be listened to on YouTube any time. :D Both are very lovely songs - if again - nothing groundbreaking. "Say When" is perhaps my favorite of the three we've heard. Feels a bit more dramatic than most previous material.
  15. Oy, excellence! I'm still fresh off my first Coldplay concert, and I swore that I would wear all the expensive merchandise I bought there to their next tour, but I might not even have to wait that long now! Given they aren't sick yet of Southern California, of course.
  16. Merry Christmas and here's the final part! I wasn't sure exactly how to end it, but I think it turned out okay. I hope you all enjoyed the whole thing! Probably not gonna write another one any time soon, but know that I had a lot of fun with this one. Commence Chapter 7!
  17. The atrocity here isn't including Coldplay on the list, as we all know the band has a holy crusade against it. No, the atrocity here, rather, is the fact that Nickelback performed better than them.
  18. Corkus replied to kevvvy's topic in Coldplay
Bah humbug, I've got another 12 hours in this time zone. Still gotta put out my "TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT" sign before the carolers arrive. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  19. White Shadows may even be a Top 10 song for me, probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite from X&Y (depends on where I feel like placing Fix You). Granted, since it was never a single (in most countries), it's doomed to playlist obscurity, but they brought back Green Eyes after all this time, so it's unlikely but not impossible.
  20. The great Chapter 6, in which I actually attempt to write a Coldplay song. We're approaching the end soon, but I'm glad the feedback has been so positive so far. Enjoy!
  21. Heehee...how much is that hat gonna go for on eBay? :sneaky:
  22. Chapter 5 ahoy! This is probably my least favorite chapter, mainly because I spent a while on an exchange at the beginning that didn't turn out that funny. Oh well, at least it ends on a set-up for a rockin' next chapter (which I had much fun with)!
  23. Honestly, while The Hardest Part has some heavenly moments, I'm seeing more similarities with its X&Y counterparts in terms of mood than the stuff on VLVODAAHF. Never liked the video, but it's one of those songs that the recording just doesn't do complete justice; live is incredible. Oh goodie, somebody else doesn't like "A Message" (I enjoy "Swallowed in the Sea", but it had to grow on me a bit). Certainly my least favorite X&Y song, and if we're talking about albums only (not B-sides or EP's), it's also one of three songs I don't care for, with the others being "A Whisper" and "Reign of Love".
  24. 8 The Hardest Part (Chris on piano)
