Hey, I'm new here :) I'm interested in learning how to play a guitar, but I really want to personalise my guitar and make it my own, so I thought of painting it in the style of the single covers from Viva la Vida, such as Life In Technicolor II, Violet Hill etc. Ergo lots of splashes and patches of paint across the guitar with the lyrics to Coldplay songs also painted on. What I'd like to know is if there's anything I need to note before I attempt to do so. For example, would I be required to sand down the body of the guitar to ensure that the paint sticks? Also, will painting it affect the sound produced by the guitar? Thanks for all the help :D

Hey guys, I have what seems to be a simple question... Does anyone know how to play the short piano riff the Chris does over the second time he sings "Revolutionaries wait, for my head on a silver plate"? If not, does anyone know of a tutorial that includes it, because I've been looking all day and have yet to find one. Does anybody know what tone Johnny uses on Charlie Brown. SOunds like he's got some tape echo on there but I just can't get it to sound right. Also if anyone know the tone for the ETIAW riff that would be great to.

So you guys are all professionals it seems like. You guys have fancy equipment and stuff and that's how you get such great sounding songs. But I don't, and I am okay with it sounding crappy. Surprisingly, Guitar Hero USB microphones aren't THAT bad. I am a perfectionist when it comes to sound quality and the quality of these GH Mics aren't really that bad. I'm wondering if anyone has a specific photo of the band's gear. It was of Chris' acoustics racked up backstage with Guy's two basses also in the end of the rack. I think it was from their yahoo gig at the hammerstein ballroom.
