Hey all. I was playing my electric guitar and I realised, I really don't like the tone! It's a cheap Jim Deacon Les Paul guitar that my dad got for me 3 years ago for about £140. It's been through being dropped countless times, being painted on with acrylic paint, the pickup holders almost breaking off and one of the tone knobs coming off. I basically want to improve it's sound. I was wondering what I could do? What sort of pickup do i get? Warning sign is a great song, and ive been trying to record an instrumental of it. i got drums, bass, rythm guitar, but i cant tackle the electric parts. I got the parts by the chorus that johnny lights up live, but i cant get that nu nah nu nah nu nah sound without muting the sound when i hammer it. how does johnny do it so smoothly live? sustain pedal? technique?

I'm looking for some good pedals to add effects to my new Les Paul Standard. I have a Marshall Class A tube amp, but it only has treble, mid, and bass controls :P. I got a BOSS DS-1 for distortion and it doesnt work for Coldplay and other songs, so Ill be returning that. Any pedal recommendations? Distortion, delay, reverb (RV-5??)?

Hey all. I was on garageband and i eventually figured out how to record two (or more) tracks at once). Here's a little bit of it just to show you how i would do it... I select on the input source on a track mono (1/2) and i do the same with the other (only using the other available mono source). And i record enable both tracks. That's all very well....BUT.... I have my equaliser, one input is my keyboard with programmed drums, and the other is my mic with my guitar. I have them plugged into my eq and i have my eq plugged into my mac via the eq's headphone jack and my mac's mic jack. Obviously when i record, it has the input from the eq coming in as one tra…

Does anyone know what effects Jonny uses during the beginning of LiT live and during the solo of LiJ live as he is tremelo picking? I want to try and get that sound but I know very little about pedal effects (only own a crybaby) so I don't know where to start. Thanks!

Hey All. I just recorded a cover of Death Will Never Conquer, and I've got all the tracks down (Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica and Tambourine). But, I was just wondering how I should mix them? I've got them all in stereo and I recorded using Garageband, but I'm mixing using Audacity (the logical option). I have the guitar panned slightly right and mandolin left, but i was wondering if i should mix down a couple tracks or just edit it?

Gear help need to know what pedals/amps helped create that sound. thanks a lot!
